    Hey,

So yeah I am going to give you my full opinion of the mods good sides and bad sides.

First of course, I list the good ones.

    - Detailed and most realistic roman units I've seen.
    - There's much challenge, you cannot win with most easy tactics.
    - You get to fight quickly in campaign (Assuming you play as Romans)
    - Good maps, all aren't some flat maps as they usually are.

Ok now I list some bad ones.

    - Very hard to control few settlements you own in the start of the campaign (Assuming you're Romans)
    - Only SPQR faction can have Praetorians. (Custom battles, dont know about campaign yet.)

In overall it's a great mod. Best roman timeframe mod I've played myself.

One question, is it possible to get Praetorians as Romans if you control Rome?

Yes, but only on Rome and after Marian Reforms

Okay thanks. What was the city again I had to capture in order to get Marian Reforms?

And another think; do you have any suggestions how to survive the beginning as Romans, I'm getting raped by Gauls pretty nicely, heh.

And if you take Rome, your faction leader becomes Emperor?

    Thanks in advance.

You need to conquer all the provinces of Carthage in Africa and build Imperial palaces. Sometimes by the time you take all of them they already have imperial palaces. Dont rush the mod it only ruins the long campaign.

    Thanks.

Usually I don't rush my campaigns to make them more fun. But I have only problem.. I get raped by Gauls pretty bad while I deal with Carthago, is there any good way to deal with Gauls without losing your cities?

Yes. Win battles. Since Gauls will come to attack you, choose ground of your own (except bridges) and win. When your army gets depleted, use mercenaries and hastati. Those are expendable in the start and mercs especially have the needed silver experience, so consider those. Plus if I may suggest, you need to push both against Gaul and Carthage at the same time, while preferably attacking Greece / Balkan.

Well, at first I pushed Cartago out of Italy pretty easily (Hannibal died, lols), while they conquered my city in Sicily and I let them fight Greeks for more time in there. Though then I saw 4 full stacks of Gauls and I was ed, tried to maintain as big army as possible but still got raped a bit.. kind a.
