Please, tell me step by step how to rebuild Osgiliath, I heard we need to upgrade both cities but it takes forever, how do I do it faster?

I could be however finding cheats for this game is extremely easy and unless you arre willing to start changing the game files that is the only way to lower the waiting time. I would not bother with speeding it up anyway, I have never used the Guards of Osgiliath due to it being an AOR unit.

You need first huge city in east osgiliath then citadel in west Osgiliath if you want to do it without cheating you will need to wait long

if you want to cheat write add_population cheat till you get the amount of people you need

West Osgiliath is the name of the settlement right? Try:

add_population "West Osgiliath" 4000

This will increase the population of W. Osgiliath by 4000. You can change this 4000 to 10000 for more, or even -1000 to reduce population.
When you are typing a name that consists of 2 words, you need to use "".

What you see:
add_population Western Osgiliath 4000

What the computer sees:
The command is to add population, the settlement in which the population must be added is Western, the amount of population to be added is Osgiliath.

What you see:
add_population "Western Osgiliath" 4000

What the computer sees:
The command is to add population, the settlement in which the population must be added is Western Osgiliath, the amount of population to be added is 4000.

I think you need 26k pop. You can check this by hovering your mouse over your current population.

I usually use "W. Osgiliath" and "E.Osgilath"... but at the end it does not matter as long as it works!
My solution is this:
How to rebuild Osgiliath from the beginning!

This works for the AI also... this editing stuff looks harder then it is!

You could also click on the settlement name, change it to 1 then add the population.

I upgraded it, just for information, it's not necessary to do it with w.Osgiliath, once you've upgraded E.Osgiliath, a window pop up to invite you to upgrade W.Osgiliath.

Bumping this thread, I have rebuilded both the osgiliaths and now they look really pretty on the map, but is this all? I sort of expected some form of achievement with a nice little video telling me how gloprious i am, and i can't build any Guards of Osgiliath despite full Dúnedain culture and maxed military buildings...

And they're still two cities i thought they were gonna merge when you rebuildt them.
