COW.exe & Kingdoms.exe stratup error

Hi. I know already that this is a common problem but i can't find a working solution (hard searching through so many topics).

The problem is, when starting game via COW icon, the game goes for a few seconds but suddenly stops with an empty error window with exclamation mark. This problem only ocurs with COW and kingdoms.exe (medieval2.exe works fine). I can play Kingdoms each capaign from autostart but can't play COW.
I have all needed patches: MTW2 1.3, Kingdoms 1.5.

Working solution:
Reinstall everything from the beginning!
Sounds like you installed it wrong/something is missing!
Of course you could post your logfile ( with activated tracing ) so noone has to guess... that´s what I am doing right now!

I was reinstaling everything few times already. Ther's nothing in "logs" folder after the crash.

Post your installation path for Medieval 2 and also post the path for Call of warhammer/Rage of the Dark gods.

When the mod starts to load what is the loading screen? Is it the original kingdoms loading screen?

you havent edited your CFG or anything have you? if kingdoms is not working then there is something gone wrong with your installation of that expansion rather then COW itself

No I haven't edited anything. Kingdoms are working, but from CD autostart menu (I can play each campaign), not from kingdoms.exe. Kingdoms.exe and COW.exe share the same empty-message error.

I got to the problem.

During installation I typed Call of Warhammer as a destination folder, shlould be Call_of_Warhammer (with those lines in between).

Geez, that was silly!

i forgot to say that i am using windows 7 profesional, x64 bytes , i have a dual core AMD 3.00 Ghz and 4 GB of RAM and a 1 GB Nvidia G Force 9500 GT video card

I had the exact same problem with CoW 1.6.I think its something wrong with batch file but not 100% sure.If you figure it out plz screem!!!

I have this problem too. First time I installed it in the M2TW folder in mods folder, without creating call of warhammer folder, the I installed it under default location C: Program files\Kingdoms\mods, and atlast I installed it in the first directory but before I've done that I created Call of Warhammer folder and installed it in it. Now when I start warhammer.bat file vanila M2TW comes up instead of Call of Warhammer. Game installed here "D:\Medieval II Total War\medieval2.exe". My question is where I must install this game?

Ok, i think i found a solution. Just do as I've done in my third attempt but in addition you must change Call of Warhammer to Call_of_Warhammer and it should run fine. I have now some main menu problems, no names of bookmarks. But I assume it will be fixed after I install no.1 fix.

Go into your main M2 TW directory copy "medieval2" (application file) and rename it to "kingdoms.exe".

I am not useing Steam..and i will try it and see if the re-name works..i renamed it "Kingdoms.exe" instead of "kingdoms.exe" i did not realise that..i hope i fin a way to make it work

As you're are not using Steam, do not do what I mentioned.

Would you care to post an image of your new install directory? Please show the folder that has the "data" folder, the .bat and .cfg files.

And the problem that I'm referring to is this:

The problem is in red. The "solution" is in blue. Whether it's in "Call_of_Warhammer" or "Rage_of_Dark_Gods", it doesn't matter. Just make sure that your .bat and .cfg files use the proper mod name (you can check that by opening either of them with Notepad).
