Missing Text

After starting on the makings of a mod and fixing a few problems here and there another problem arose that ,yet again, I cannot figure out.

When going into battle or on the standard campaign map some text is missing. I have recently edited some of the expanded.txt but only the faction names so I doubt that is the problem here. I also just realized that the portrait of the governor doesn't appear but I'm not sure if it's related.

Do you have all .txt files in yourmod/data/text? The try deleting the .strings.bin files

Well after unpacking and making another mod folder again I deleted all the .bin files and now the text is back.

But how can I change any text now considering there is nothing there to change?

So if I'm getting this right you only need to add .txt/.bin files when you edit them. And delete the old .bin file after you edit.

I deleted all .bin files then only added imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlements.txt after editing and it still worked.

You either need to convert the string.bin files with the convertor in the Tools subforum or use Bare Geomod with a built-in string.bin editor.

I never bother with the bins. It seems to work without them

Do you mean you never touch the .strings.bin files? You don't need to edit them, but every time you edit a file inside the text folder, you should delete the .strings.bin file with the same name

Edit the .txt file and the game will generate a new string.bin.

I have used the convertor since it was made. Take care of it, it will take care of you.

lol, I meant delete it, not edit it I've tried the converter a couple of times actually, but I've never really needed it

I don't use Geomod or Bare Geomod so I do it the hard way.
