    Default Priest UI portraits

    - I converted Norway to pagan religion. (descr_sm_factions, descr_strat)
    - Done the temples, UI cards and descriptions work for them Ok.

    - Done the priest conversion from catholic to pagan (descr_character) :
    faction norway
    dictionary 2
    strat_model pagan_priest ; default model
    strat_model pagan_high_priest ; advanced priest

    - made them use proper textures (descr_model_strat), works ok, my priests use pagan textures

    - copied the portraits/portraits/young/pagan_priests folder from ui/eastern_european to ui/northern european, but ingame my pagan priests still have catholic portraits

i'm doing this small modification over Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod. i see lithuania, which is east.eu culture, uses proper pagan portraits. i just can't figure out what i'm missing. all help would be appreciated!

thanks in advance for all kind replies!

found the solution. for some strange, to me still unknown reason, since i converted Norway to pagan, the game searches for portraits in South European UI folder, instead of north european.
    go figure!

southern_european is the 'fallback' culture if the game can't find what it's looking for in the correct culture.

Does southern_european have a "pagan_priests" folder of portraits? If so, does it contain more images than your northern_european one?

What could be happening is that when the engine randomly chooses a portrait number (e.g. 023.tga) if no such file exists in your NE/pagan_priests folder then it will look for it in SE instead. If SE/pagan_priests doesn't exist then it might be looking in just SE/priests. As a general rule cultures should have (at least?) the same number of portraits as their SE equivalents, as though the SE portrait counts dictate what the maximum will be when generating a random portrait number. I'm not sure if this rule always applies but I have seen it happen.

Having said that, I assume that EE pagan priests are working fine? If yes then that's probably not the cause.
