Heya again, can anyone recommend a faction to play with in the Britannia campaign? I'm struck between Norway, Wales and Ireland.
I'd play it on VH/VH. I like a bit of a challenge, and an interesting unit roster. Thanks![]()

Wales, it was my first and only faction when I played the Britannia Capaign, it was very funtry them, nice units, nice starting location

Adevăratele înfrângeri,
sunt renunţările la vis.
Wales is the easiest faction to play as, Ireland is the hardest, depends on what level of challenge you want.

Pah. Norway doesn't even have a treasury for half the game. Ireland just has to take 4 rebel cities (because Dublin will never stay British for long) and it'll have no problems ever again. AI doesn't navally invade. Sure, their units are mostly crap, but with their mid-game economy, it doesn't matter.
Wales has a longbow unit with the same number of men as infantry units do. Sooooo fun.
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)

If you like dread, go for Norway although from reading other posts its a pretty hard country to play as you have to go around plundering everything in order to get any money. I've just finished a Welsh campaign and it was pretty easy, although the Welsh do have a restricted unit roster and a small starting territory all their units stay useful throughout the game and you can aquire units from other cultures via mercenaries or newly conquered settlements (they initially only offer the troops from the conquered territory but change to Welsh as your culture level increases). I think that possibly the English have a more interesting game due to the Barons Rebellion splitting their forces at some stage in the game and also a large choice of units. They also have a larger territory to start with and they also have archers like the Welsh so I think they would be pretty easy to play.
When I played Norway, I went into minus by 10k a turn. Playing as Wales the English often make raids into your territory, sometimes two full stacks. Playing as Ireland, when you Isolate whole Ireland for yourself, you're pretty much like Spain.
P.S - Can someone tell me who has better 2handers, Ireland or Wales?
When I played Wales on Medium/VH the English didn't attack me, and never with full stacks. Maybe because I was on Medium and attacked them first? I think Wales has better charge values for the 2 handers and ireland has better armour or something like that - check it at http://m2tw.warlore.org/units
Galloglaich 16 9 48 3 9 0 410 150 9
Rhyfelwyr 14 8 48 5 8 0 320 150 5
Gallowgaich cost more and Rhyfelwyr have better armour but Galloglaich are better overall

I'd agree that Norway is the hardest faction in that campaign while Scotland seems to be the easiest. The English get too many intern problems and stuff like that, especially with the emerging Baron's Alliance, they should have been made much stronger.
But as said before each faction has another difficulty and (dis)advantages, but it may also depend from which country you like the most![]()
I recommend Norway - -your lands are scatterred, you get like a bunch of random islands and such.
Norway is the most "obscure" type of faction, so you get a lot of freedom as to who you want to conquer.
I would recommend killing off the irish first, so you can secure their island - and also because if Ireland takes itself over (sounds silly, i mean if they take over all of Ireland) they become a real Beast later on.
They have a neat look, and they are definantly a challenge --- they have some fun script events too like, Viking Raiders coming by sea - so you get cool armies but also more naval vessels.
Wales is just ugly, I'm sorry to offend the fans, but its like .. "Santa's Merry Men" or something with the putrid green and red - ughck , and the Saethwyr (Welsh Longbows) these guys look like bums from the street corner not deadly archers.
Scotland , of course. That feeling when William Wallace emerges ! Him and his highland army can pretty destroy any stack (if you know how to use his army ) .
Ireland, obviously.
Their units are actually quite good, their economy is tremendous and it's very easy to launch raids and such on England from your homelands.

Hmm, if you take control of whole Ireland, would it be too easy?
double post sorry
I'd go with Ireland, I love their units!! One word you will come to love when you play as them: Muire. That is allTo be honest, England is the most boring action to play as, if you ask me
Cry God for Harry, England and Saint George!
Had most fun with Wales, longbows and an awesome knight spearmen unit.
