    Default Day Light Savings

Given that today (for americans at least) was daylight savings and we have turned the clock forward I am curious as to what you all think. i personally don't have a strong opinion either way but I know many who do. For the most part I have only heard people complaining about day light savings, so I am really curious to hear the other perspective as well.

be sure to vote in the poll and state why if u can

    Is it even useful anymore?

It was never useful. People could just change their schedules rather than change the clock.

Wasn't this Ben Franklins idea? He had lots of good ideas, so I assume they let this one slip through the cracks.

Its a pointless system that only serves to create chaos. The idea's it was based on only apply to certain countries and even those idea's are no longer a factor.

He had a similiar idea but he wasnt the one behind what we have today.

If I remember to use it as an excuse for being late to work, it's fine. Other than that it's bloody annoying.

In the past daylight mattered allot more than today. So they werent idiots. We are the idiots for still doing an obsolete concept.

Could be re-introduced as a greenish concept to cut energy consumption. Or we install LEDs.

Should be ing abolished. Arizona has good sense to get rid of it. The rest of the US should follow suit. It it is pointless and totally destroys schedules. The sun should not still be up at 8pm.

For me, at least, DSL has done nothing but up my schedule every time the clocks change. Get rid of it please.

Just reading up on Wikipedia, there are too many factors for the benefit or harm to be predictable. It seems to based on "I thinks".

Keep it. It gives the illusion of more daylight, which is always nice.

By the way, the third option in the poll should say "I couldn't care less"

yea, the way I saw it, it doesnt matter either way in the end. in a manner of speaking the guy pictured in my first post seems to get it right. To use the metaphor, the blanket is still the same size either way. i suspect it mostly stays around because of habit and because so many others still do it

I don't like my already volatile sleeping schedule being altered at all. The original reason is outdated and today serves no purpose other than to cause people grief in spring or pleasure in fall.

I say get rid of it.

It is still useful for people who do a lot of work outdoors. But to gaming nerds with maladjusted sleeping schedules I can understand that it seems unnecessary ;-)

If you work nights on BST then you don't actually see 'night' during the summer months. You go to work in daylight and you come back in daylight.

I don't mind going to work in the dark in the winter, I'd rather have that daylight on the return end. I'd be all for getting rid of DLS.

There is no use for it even for people who work outdoors. Due to Spring having increasingly longer days, people can simply adjust their hours to work a little earlier. Let them do it, not mandate compulsory change for everyone else.
