I played my very first campaign - khorne. Now after i finally have the hole north i wanted to take kul's settlement ... BUT it is owned by Chaos Dwarfs who allied with me in turn 2 or so. No Diplomat to break alliance, no option to attack the settlement... No Chaos Undivided, that sucks hard after all the playtime!

Send assassins to kill your allied generals until your assassins are found and the alliance breaks.

he may have assasins disabled, how ever he can do it using a diplomat and then asking to break alliance that way.

The empire will re-alliance with you at the beginning of the next turn. You can take their cities, but it would be without any real opposition other than the garrison.

I once ha an option to attack my allies but I don't know if it was effective cause I never took it. It was like this, there was a rebel settlement under the fog of war, I tried to send an army directly to besiege it without stopping for any distraction but when I clicked on it a question box appeared and said something about attacking your allies and two options, accept or decline. I send over a spy and tada, it turned out the settlement was effective under the control of another elector count (I was Wisseland). I never took it so I don't know if it really works, and also this depends on chances only, every turn you would have to try to send an army (even composed of only one unit) to besiege enemy towns under the fog of war and see if any has been conquered by the elves and then say yes to the declare war on ally thing.

It works like this, you can attack your allies. Send a diplomat to cancel alliance, and then attack them. The turn in which you do so will have you breaking off from all your other alliances as well, and probably with some declaring war with you. The next turn however, you will be allied once again without your input. It's just done automatically.

So you can take cities from your allies. Just don't expect stacks to attack you the next turn or any sort of concentrate war effort to fight you on the AI's part.
