Default Few questions about units stats

Hi. I am not very experienced player but i think i am total newbie. I really love RS2, everything is 1000 times better than in vanilla, but i would like to make few changes and also ask for some information i would like know. I hope that this topic is in right section of forum; i tried to search a little here, but i didnīt find the answers on my questions after few hours (anyway i have found many other usefull topics for me to read and a lot of fun..). Also I am sorry for my poor english If anyone knows some answers on my questions, please write it. So letīs get started, it will be quite long..:

    1) (RTW Game mechanics) Does the weapon which a soldier actually holds count in any way into stats of this particular soldier and probabilities of hitting ? For example when a soldier with a longsword/ short sword fighting another one with a spear and both have the same base stats (attack, charge, defence), who will have more attack caused by weapon, more attack rate, defence, or attack bonus against particular units..? So how do these things work in general in vanilla RTW? And is there any difference in RS2 ? Weapons which i would like to know which effects they have on fight are spear (basic hoplit or celtic..), long spear (phalangs), long sword, short sword/gladius, axe, daggers (archers)...

    2) Is there any way in RS2, how to increase the cost of cavalry (both recruitment and upkeep), but only for my particular faction which i play actually? I know that cost of cavalry is much reduced because of AI to be motivated to recruit cavalry but i think it is a little buff for player. In my opinion I could be able to rewrite somethings in the modfoldered campaign for my faction, but i dont know where. Is it possible or not and if yes, where it is ?

    3) For the "playing style" which i prefer and because of my previous gaming experience (RTW vanilla, BI, Alex, RTR , M2TW..) i would like to reduce the "missile attack" of all horse archers. In all of these games and versions I think that horse archers are overpowered. I think it has been solved in RS2 from 75%, horse archer unit finally canīt keep shooting arrows like a machine gun to a infantry unit and then when infantry is 1/3 numbered charge and easily rout... but i still would like to reduce this value a little bit. another argument for doing this - I think that cavalry is really cheap anyway for player and with a nasty missile attack it is still kinda easy when adding some of this units into armies. So is there anyway how to reduce missile attack in whole RS2 for all horse archers but not for chariots, elephants, javelin cavalry....?

(still when i compare this issue in RS2 with vanilla RTW... vanilla: 1 parthian full cavalry army of horse archers, 4 cataphracts + general vs. 3 full roman armies (1v3) => clear win with no significant loss in numbers of my units, nearly same effect it had when i have been playing MTW, RTR... RS2: 1v1 and my army canīt continue to the next battle without new units/recruitment.... by the way I love the eastern factions in all of these games, and the way how the RS2 made them is really wonderfull... Parthia, Sarmatia, Scythia, Armenia, Pontus... )

Thank you everyone who read that whole and especially those who will answer me

    1. Each type of weapon has a differnt animation which does affect combat. For example there could be a Fast_Swordsman or a Slow_Swordsman.
    2.C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Roma Surrectum\Play_Rome\data
    export_descr_unit
    Cost in Red,
    Code:
    stat_cost 1, 3988, 1198, 600, 801, 499
    3.C:\Program Files (x86)\The Creative Assembly\Roma Surrectum\Play_Rome\data
    export_descr_unit
    Attack in red
    Code:
    stat_pri 7, 39, pointed_stick2, 100, 35, missile, archery, piercing, none, 25, 1

thx you very much for 2) and 3) and on 1):

Yes, of course each weapon has different animation, it affects the combat as you said, but what are bonuses and penalties "in general"? I think spears may have bonus vs cavalry, swords vs infantry, axes vs heavy amored units etc... In vanilla version everything seems like it doesnt work and only thing which counts are basic stats - attack charge defence and morale... for example when cavalry attacked barbarian warband (spears) nothing special happened even if warband had high experience and upgraded weapons... and now in RS2 everything, whole combat is a little bit different so I am asking for this.... So does it works in general in RS2 for many units like that spears > cavalry, swords > infantry etc.. ?

Theres a attribute that can be applied in the EDU. The spears one gives a bonus against cav and a penalty agaisnt Inf. AP means armour piercing and whatever unit has that attribute halfs the attacked armour.
    Code:
; attributes A miscellanious list of attributes and abilities the unit may have. Including
    ; sea_faring = can board ships
    ; hide_forest, hide_improved_forest, hide_long_grass, hide_anywhere = defines where the unit can hide
; can_sap = Can dig tunnels under walls
; frighten_foot, frighten_mounted = Cause fear to certain nearby unit types
; can_run_amok = Unit may go out of control when riders lose control of animals
; general_unit = The unit can be used for a named character's bodyguard
; cantabrian_circle = The unit has this special ability
; no_custom = The unit may not be selected in custom battles
; command = The unit carries a legionary eagle, and gives bonuses to nearby units
; mercenary_unit = The unit is s mercenary unit available to all factions

I was wondering, with units such as Insurbes Infantry which by default use spears. If you use alt to make them use swords do they still have their bonus verses cavalry??
