    Default Art for Westeros

Hey everyone! As a person helplessly clumsy with a pencil, but with a keen interest, I thought it would be an nice idea to put together a thread with some artwork with an Westerosi feel, both for own viewing pleasure and possibly as inspiration/source to our beloved modmakers. The pictures do not have to have an clear association with ASOIAF, just as long as they stick to the "theme". Go nuts!

Also, for the sake of thread loading time, please spoiler the images, and if you want you can add a little description

Found this picture, although not enough gold, I think these knights have some Lannister feel to them no? ^^

Always liked this picture. I think the armour is abit too uniform to be something from Westeros, but I like the feel nonetheless. Yronwood knights maybe? Or if you exchange the green to blue, it could be some wealthy Vale Lords followers?

I think this a great idea! But your lannaster night look very Targaryen to me, and that southron one is a dead ringer for the lannasters

Southron knight could work both ways ^^ But yeah, now when you mention it, those knights DO look Targaryen! Good spotting

Oh god no, please don't use these! The armor on most is just utter BS. For example, this:
    Southron knight:
Is about 600 years outside the timeframe, because it's ing 9th century AD. And pretty inaccurate at that. The rest are just thrown together bits and pieces of armor from the 12th till the 17th century.

I thought that... Looked at his surcoat " oh look he's medieval"
Saw his helmet and horse armour "what the heck?"

BOM, how armored are the soldiers in the 14th-15th century exactly? so far in our modding I think all of our stuff would greatly resemble the 10th to 12th century...thats including knights but we may do something really accurate to 15th-16th century knights as inspiration towards the Nobles of westeros...

it just doesnt seem likely to us that the 7 kingdoms can really arm their armies in plate like we see in the pictures...its just the nobles and really influential knights that get those armors while everyone else gets leather, chainmail and patches of steel or plate here and there at best...
Hedge Knights for example dont seem to be able to afford plate but we are not really history buffs so we just kind of go with our gut feeling and what looks cool

Emm, the current public version is perfectly consistent with the 14th century. Those pictures are mostly consistent with what a stupid nerd might make up to drool at in his mother's dungeon.

The books as well, are consistent with 14th/early 15th century.

Well, this thread is nothing official, required or have a stamp that says "Use this!". It's more for fun actually, for our own viewing pleasure. And if some parts of these pictures, wheter it be surcoats or banner, or a single piece of armour such as a gauntlet, well so be it, but this thread is just for our own fun and imagination. Use it as it's supposed to be

Can I ask that some of those calendar pictures are used for the general pictures? They're so pretty!

Im sure a lot of you have seen the 2011 Calender as well, but for those that havent, it has some really awesome Castle paintings.

    The images need to be viewed in large scale, so theyre too big to post here, but here's the link to them all;
