This was a build a co-worker put together, he's very happy with it. I'm sure some of you will say overkill, but I'm just wondering if it could be tweaked for the cost, my actual budget (once I get out of dept to all those who have already helped me ) will be around $1,500 excluding monitor, keyboard, mouse.

99% of that built is outdated and overpriced

    start fresh

    Intel 2600k $300
    Z68 motherboard $150
    8GB DDR3 Memory $45
    Power Supply $125
    Case $150
    CPU Cooler: $50
    DVD Drive: $20

Thanks yeah I already have an earlier list for what I was going to build, but I'll need to update it

Crazy's build is a lot better than the one you proposed. You should follow his advice for sure or you will just end up wasting money.

I'd go with Crazy's suggestion, but wait till nvidia's new kepler range comes out.

Yeah I was mainly posting this to see the reactions. I had another approved build in one of the stickies some months back, but never had a chance to get it, but I figure parts date pretty quick.

I would skip the kepler, just go with the 7870.
