Desktop PC Lost Audio
Hi guys, I had my desktop running stable after fixing my problem (which I also posted here once, like a month ago) about the "kernel_data_inpage_error" BSOD I'm having. And I've been using this PC for quite awhile now without any hitches until this morning.
Yesterday night, I opened the PC and there is no problem appearing whatsoever. But once I opened the PC this morning, CHKDSK suddenly initializes, its weird since I didn't do something off of the ordinary before turning it off yesterday, let alone schedule a CHKDSK because the computer is running smoothly as is.
Anyway, the part 2 of the CHKDSK process (indexing) got some weird list of .sys files that has something to do with sounds as I recently discovered like "kmixer.sys", "..audio.sys", etc., etc.. Anyway, my hunch is correct; I think something about the audio got corrupted and any audio was now gone. I checked the device manager for the audio problem and true enough, 2 of the 8 audio drivers have a yellow exclamation mark namely:
-Microsoft Kernel System Audio Driver
-Microsoft WINMM WDM Audio Compatibility Driver
Both has the same error code:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
So, what can I do to fix the drivers again and restore my PC's audio? And what caused this error to happen randomly, didn't really experienced driver errors before, I want to at least prevent it from happening again. I hope someone has an idea about this, advance thanks
.
