This wasn't me but there is a screenshot in the XGM forum of someone playing as greece (about 120bc i think it was) who greek cities were making so much money. I don't know what the income alone was, but the PROFIT was over 8000 per turn!!!!!!!!!! Take away the army upkeep and other expenditure and that is a pretty impressive income. This was the city right of athens across the sea i believe (above halicarnus). I'll have a look for it.
Ok i found it. Lots of impressive ones on this one screeny. Credit to Froggie5:

Thats 9220 after expenditure is taken away lol (army upkeep especially must have been pretty large). The income must be huge. With the exception of rome i think the most income is made in and around greece. The massive trade networks obviously play a big part.Originally Posted by Sitarus Originalus PM-30+
had 9420/ per turn yesterday... i was playing franks and the city was Revenna... two turns later the city was sacked by the Vandals![]()

Is it worth getting the really expensive tradeing buildings?
Under the patronage of Rhah and brother of eventhorizen.
I think I got Constantinople up to 8500, maybe 9k in Goths all Factions mod.
"We've made the ferryman wait this long, lets make him wait a little longer."
"The Legions will not fail you, do not fail them." Roma Mod
I had Rome pumping out about 10,000 per turn, but with all my expenditures I only made about 500 profit. All the other cities had regular profits, with some losses. Its hard to uphold armies that must outnumber the enemy when they are richer and using the same units, after the reforms, and still have a stable economy.
also Athens , dont remember how exactly but it was 10k + with the greeks, with all the near cities and islands conquered ... i left that game cus i was able to bribe any army....
History is a set of lies agreed upon.

The only fact in history.
these are small time, half - steppin, numbers. 5000? 8500? 11000?
I've seen a screenshot of a guy with a vanilla empire of the Britons with Rhodes at 44,000 + some change per turn
swear to it, yes i do
I admit, it is possible he was cheating though
I was Carthage, and Rome got 7000 profit.
I was the Roman Brutii faction and i just recently took over Athens, and i got 6200 per turn, but i could have close to 7000, but the city would rebel if i did.
London was making me 8000+ during a 10 year span, and this was on H/H.
I had 10k from Patavium and that included army upkeep.
waw...
doesn anyone has a trick or any advice for me how to do it?

Just build economic buildings and keep the economy up. I never planned or even tried to get London to make so mcuh though, it just happened without me noticing it for a few turns. Maybe you will get lucky too.
ohhh, ok - i just thought there can be a trick to do that

I have made a tonne from london too. I had trade rights with all northern france and denmark. The city was making thousands in sea trade alone. I think trade is what gets the highest incomes.
