Starting faction standings not working properly - updated with a small but to-the-point test

Well, i've modded the vanilla game, and one of the things i've changed are the starting faction standings in descr_strat.
My only issue (though i'm not 100% sure everything else works ok cause i haven't tested it properly) is that when i start a new campaign with Byz and open the diplomacy scroll (on round 1), it shows my relations with Sicily as Reasonable. In descr_strat though, i've given
faction_standings sicily, -0.4 byzantium
faction_standings byzantium, -0.4 sicily
So it should be Very Poor not Reasonable

Any clues why this is happening? Felix qui portuit rerum cognoscere causas

All the other starting faction standings of Byz to the other factions are showing just like i've put them in descr_start....

As the game proceeds, various normalization factors kick in (from descr_faction_standing) and the Byz-Sicily relations start to drop, but that doesn't have to do anything with the issue of starting faction standings i think, i'm just sayin'...

Ok, i did a small test
Before
Hungary -0.3 shows as Poor
Sicily -0.4 shows as Reasonable

After
Hungary 0.5 shows as Good
Sicily -0.8 shows as Reasonable

And then another one
After the above
Hungary -0.4 shows as Very Poor
Sicily 0.8 shows as Reasonable

Still a mystery to me... Are the Sicilians very stubborn or what?

Perhaps posting the whole diplomacy section with code tags wrapped around it will help more. At least i don´t know further atm.

hmmm... it's better lined-up when i see it in notepad...

But basically... It's weird, it looks like all the other factions' standings show at the diplomacy scroll at the start of the campaign as i put them in descr_strat, except for Sicily

I can make changes to all of them but Sicily always shows as Reasonable, whatever value i place there

And i don't think that at the start (round 1) there's something else affecting those standings.... I also don't know if more tests would help me...

But i generally don't know a lot of this, so any help/comments would be very appreciated

Still don´t know where the mistake is, but i copied it into the vanilla descr_strat and started it for the second time in my life - the first one was by mistake. Byzantium had reliable relations to Sicily. System log says:

Those are all single-entry factions like "0.4 papal_states" or "0.4 france" but the weird thing is that the lines end always one column less than the error - and so i simply hit Del at the end of the lines and then pushed Enter. I started MTW again and Sicily-Byzantium relations were very poor - no clou why and the systemlog still gives the same errors.

Hmmm, i don't know what to make of it...
I tried what you said with del+enter but it didn't work... I'll try again and maybe try some other stuff... And i'll report back
On the other hand, i'm having fun without this fixed, anyway, it's no big deal

A pathfinding issue i had was bigger, but i fixed that.
