Tempted to say Novgorod, and you just left the Cumans as a buffer for the Mongols, however Byzantium is doing very well for a Late campaign...and for some reason HRE looks suspicious.

    Verdict: HUNGARY

I don´t know about Stainless steel at all, so I´m just going to guess the Byzantine Empire.

    And the answer is...

    *end of drumrolls*

    Byzantine empire of course.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

As I mentioned, it was over a two years old campaign which I continued playing after all this time. Late era campaign, great time. I played it very slowly and didn't rush into annexing lots of territories in the beginning. Later on the neighbours had grown nicely or were conquered by another faction, combined it with a war in every front and having a crusade and a jihad called upon me, in turn made an interesting and challenging game, a real fight for surviving.

And here are the peeps that got it right. If I missed a name or two, let me know!

I'm not on the list of people that need rep but I was right

Anyway as the Byzzies you really should blitz the late campaign. Break the Turks super early on. I think by turn 20 I had driven them back out of Anatolia and had reclaimed the Balkans + the Greek isles on my vh/vh campaign. Challenging start but their units are soooo good. Especially those Constantinople only cataphracts guys you can really spam in the late campaign

    Next map

Stainless Steel Battle for the Baltics with modified starting positions

You can see the treasury and the turn number on the right side of the screenshot.

    Crusades:
    Jerusalem (Norway)
Some settlement in English France (don't remember which, sorry) which was afterwards taken by France. UPDATE: The second crusade was on Toulouse.

    Jihads:
    None successful as of yet.

    Starting positions

Hope you don't mind the slight changes in coloring. The map of the starting positions are updated but there are no big region ownership changes done since I played. Only province change is Sardinia split in two on the updates starting positions map and removed one of the small isles in Britain. Otherwise slight border change on Curland and the Orkneys. And, the start date was 1185 when I played, not that it makes a big difference apart from the Crusader states holding Jerusalem and Acre but not Cyprus from the start when this campaign took place.

    Norway

Is that Norway in Greece or the Byzzies? I have a really hard time distinguishing between the colours, espescially with Norway sitting in Jerusalem a player controlles Norway could easily have taken Greece + Anatolia.
