I didn't plan to post this map when I started the campaign because I figured that playing as England I would have conquered way too much even by turn 45. I was wrong, adding Ireland did make a change to the English campaign. First they kicked me out of Ireland while I was occupied in France fighting against the French and Aragon and in England defending against the Scots and naval invasions by Castille-Leon, Denmark and Norway. Ireland also invaded my Welsh provinces and it took me until turn 30 to defeat them because I was at war with France, Scotland, Aragon, Norway, Denmark, Castille-Leon and Portugal, which did not make me popular with the pope. I had to constantly try not to get excommunicated and my only ally being the HRE (already excommunicated) might not have helped.
I did let myself get excommunicated once just to finally get rid of Ireland. Made sure to bribe the pope for him to like me enough to get a crusade towards the middle east going and then letting myself get excommunicated. Then make sure to get reconciled within 10 turns after the completion of that crusade. Had to do the same thing when finishing off Scotland so I did not get to participate on the crusades myself.
Had to finish the game because when I started the war against France I realized France had too few regions compared to all the other European areas, they were too weak and easy to conquer as well. Back to tweaking the map, which makes the save unplayable.
