End same religion marriage!

Allow me to explain this thread. First of all, I am a devout Pastafarian, and I always will be. Many people from all parts of the world share this faith, so please do not mock and belittle it.

Second of all, we pastafarians hold many moral beliefs and we demand respect for them. One of those beliefs is that marriage is a sacred, holy union between two people of different faiths. We also believe that by allowing people of the same religion to marry, the government is tarnishing this sacred ritual and, frankly, smacking our religion in the face. We also believe that when the govermnent lets people of the same faith marry, they are making a statement that such an immoral union is the same as our sacred union, and that offends many of us.

You may ask "But where is your holy book?", the answer is: right next to me, I wrote this gospel with divine help. And in it you will find this verse:

Pasta 82:7
"And thou shall keep marriage a holy union, and thou shall never allow two people of the same faith to marry".


As you can clearly see, we have ample cause for alarm at the depraved pratice of same religion marriage. By not allowing us to force people to follow this, the goverment is oppressing our right to oppress the rights of others.

Thank you, and I hope my fellow follwers of the FSM will help me in this most important quest. Please do not dismiss our faith becasue it is young, remember that every religion was young at some point, but that didn't mean that it wasn't valid.

If the government wants to give a civil marriage to homosexuals, then that's a matter for it to debate among itself.

I'm trying to adress the point about Christians trying to outlaw civil marriages on religiuos grounds, not Christians arguing that the Chruch shouldn't acept those unions. Just thought I should make that clear.

I think the only reason marriage, in america, is such a big issue now is because the federal government embraces it so, monetarily I mean, to the point where it pays to get married. Most of the time I find when people talk about marriage in regards to politics in the U.S., it really ends up having to do with money, not love.

If Christianity doesn't allow Christian marriage to homosexuals, it should not be forced to change its doctrine merely because one section of society wants it to, and it shouldn't be forced to give out Christian marriage.

If Pastafarianism (or whatever it's called) doesn't want to allow Pastafarian marriage to two people of the same faith, then it shouldn't be forced to.

If i haven't then this statement would be very very easy for me to pick apart.

In a secular society, as some things recently involving religions have done.

I'd have to disagree. If marriage was only about money, then we'd see a lot less marriages. But it is about the ultimate demonstration of love between two people as well.

But we feel that it's offensive, thefore we should have the right to stop people from doing it!

It's insulting to our religion, it needs to be stopped. Remember, we're jsut trying to defend the moral fabric of society.
