I'm pretty sure it affects accuracy and damage (I'm actually 100% sure it affects accuracy, not too sure about damage)... Never thought about whether or not it affects range as well.

I“ve only heard that it affects accuracy - but the range should remain the same.
That seems to be the case according to what I“ve seen, anyway.
I think Nazgul Killer is correct - never heard of range being affected by bad weather.
And it shouldn“t, either. In reality, arrows fly the same distance wether you“re shooting them off in good weather or heavy rain, unless you pull the string with different amounts of strength...

doesn't matter if it's dry or dense fog, they'll shoot.
I think crossbows have more negative effects from it than normal handbows
That“s exactly what I said - the bow shoots equally far regardless of weather.
Maybe I should have added that it“s the bowman on whom it depends, but I thought it was beside the point since bowmen in M2TW doesn“t have problem seeing the enemy regardless of fog, and will fire as soon as they are within range.

In which case it is the wind that is to blame - the weather itself, the rain or the snow, doesn“t make an arrow travel less of a distance. Even the wind doesn“t, technically, since it only affects how the arrow travels, not how far it travels.
Hence it“s perfectly logical for bad weather conditions to affect accuracy, but not range.
Now, I agree that a heavy mist should, what with the archers“ range being dependant on how far he can see, but otherwise the range should remain unaffected.

Actually, in reality it makes sense why it would affect range. Archers won't be able to see their targets clearly from afar. However, I recall zooming in to my archers' point of view, and they started firing way before I even saw the enemy approaching.

Archer efficiency and accuracy will be cut significantly in a heavy storm, which in reality is accurate( not really sure why some of you are arguing that). I believe a heavy fog will also cause their range to decrease as well. All range units for that matter will be effected negatively in bad weather.
Hm... Someone should make a mod where archers range matches their visibility. It would make foggy battles way more fun.

In reality the range is affected, as a wet (fog, rain and snow) bow string has less elasticity. Visibility affects accuracy for obvious reasons.
Wind can affect range both positively and negatively, but not accuracy with an experienced bowman.
is there wind in medieval 2?![]()
