So right now I played some dude which used France (haggisboy69) I won him in my first battle, he used scotland (i am not bragging but just saying i used the same army) with france and the same tactic.

So the French have:
Aventuriers, superb armoured and have decent missile attack
Dismounted French Knights (idk really) but they have attack like 21 -.-
Scots Guard - idk really but they're nice
The western cavalry - Templar knights...
French mounted archers - english longbows, mobile, effective against armour...Well idk how to defeat them, I can't engage them in melee with my infantry cuz Dismounted Boyar Sons are not SO good, my cav is nothing compared to Templar's. His Mounted archers are better than mine..
What do you think of this?

Perhaps you can try mounted xbows? They should perform better than French mount archers I think. France late period lack musketeer which will beat any other type of foot missile. If the game banned it, pavis crossbows should perform better than scots guard and aventurier for sure. France melee cav and melee inf aren't top of the line either.

The only thing they have good for them is perhaps their flemish and swiss pike (and serpentine if the host allow it)

My favorite faction, Russia, do not have either pavise xbowmen nor mounted xbows and i don't like using western factions-.

my fav french 10k army is 1 late bodyguard 2 lancers 4 voulgiers 4 swiss pikes these units have maximum equipment i also have 2 aventuriers with armour upgrades and 1 unupgraded pike militia basically they are there to take arrows while my xbows shot the enemy missles or heavy infantry tempting the enemy player into a rash move he got more cavalry usally players bring the maximum amount of cavalry and then his infantry surges forward he now wastes his missle advantage.

before the battle i drag my 4 vouldgier into a 2.5 man deep formation notice the small gaps as you do this and make the units be tighter togheter to prevent enemy soldiers to get in sword range and now place your swiss pikemen the same way place the front pikes were the voulgier line ended the pikes will still be in front of the voulgiers and remeber swiss pikemen has 15 atack! absolutely lethal.

the enemy will not break tru i lost 17 men total while completly routed 5 noble swordsmen and 5 noble pikemen his pikemen were the first to engage his pikemen were disrupted by the pikes and so drew swords against my voulgiers that have arnour piercing weapons, the voulgiers are there to protect the pikes because a pikeman that draws his sword is dead, the voulgiers have the same weapon.

late period cavalry is more mobile than high period not only can my cavalry outrun but i can distraction attacks i can do more things than the medival knigths can i can outfigth him as long as i am near my infantry to prevent the cavalry from being surrounded obvisuly try to make hammer and anvil strikes at the enemy infantrys backs so that you can move your stacked units to were they are needed keep them combined and they kil anything in front keep them in guard mode voulgiers have a longer reach than swords and with guard mode they will stay in the swiss pikes protective zone.

Russia still have cosack musketeer which will beat any range unit type france will bring

Their cav is much better over france as well with druzhina and Tsar guards. The heavy horse arch from Russia is very good also as strike cav
