Default Lore Question: Chaos and Orcs

    Simple question:
Why doesn't Chaos affect Orcs in any way?
If any one knows, please give me your sources.

Gork and Mork as far as I know- Orcish belief in the power of their own gods protects them as well as they don't have as many of the complexities of humans and dwarves that make them vulnerable.

4 Chaos Gods doesn't want to mess with Gork and Mork because Sigmar alone is stressful enough .

Edit:in some warhammer forum I find this , hope it will help
"Orcs cannot be corrupted by the Chaos Gods. It is possible for mutant Greenskins to happen, but the gods cannot get an influence on Greenskins and I'm sure they hate it.

They are just too simple minded for any of the Gods to have an effect. They do not desire any immortality, so Nurgle won't work. Khorne is unhappy, where as orcs enjoy bloodshed and slaughter. Greenskins are asexual and they care not for art and perfection, so Slaanesh is out of the question, and they have no long term plans, so strike Tzeentch out so.

No Chaos Orcs. Greenskins have a high resistance to Chaos energy mutation, and are completly untouchable by the Gods."

Edit2:"The 1st ed. supplement Freebooters had some rules for Khorne worshiping Orks, but that was pretty well dropped in 2nd. ed. I think the basic idea now is that Orks are so closely attached to Mork and Gork that they literally CAN'T fall for any other god"

in the forgeworld book Tamurkhan throne of chaos there was a tribe of orcs in the wastes who had mutated and degenerated because heavy exposure of warpstone. i believe warpstone is magic in solid form, and magic is essentially the essence of chaos right? i know there those that consider forge world stuff unofficial but there's that.

Chaos does affect them, but the blessings of Gork and Mork are basically a diluted aspect of chaos already. But yeah, orcs get mutations, but it's hard to tell the difference between common chaos mutants and orc mutants other than skin colour........usually.

The only instance i've ever seen of Orks "worshipping" a chaos god was in the old Daemonhunter codex for Warhammer 40k. In that you had an ork waaaggh! landing on a planet and then being corrupted by a Nurgle shrine, which they believed to be a temple to Gork (Or possibly Mork?). They recieved all kinds of mutations before the Grey Knights arrived to destroy them. There was even a picture of chaos tainted orks. Still they weren't really worshipping the chaos gods knowingly.

    Here is the picture:

And here is something else you may want to read:

While this info is technically 40k related, Orks are basically the same in both fantasy and 40k.

If you thought a normal Black Orc was tough to kill, wait until you meet the Nurgle Black Orcs

Black orcs were created by chaos sorcery and special breeding overseen by chaos dwarfs. But as with 40k orks they don;t have the inclination to swear aleigence to other gods and we know that chaos dwarf intentions of corrupting orcs met with a distillation/concentration of orciness, the opposite of what they wanted.

Orcs can be seen as chaotic in itself?
I mean, they live to wage war... sounds pretty Khorne to me, right?
Plus, there is tons of stories which involve Orcs actually finding shrines dedicated to a Chaos God and by their brutish behaviour wake demons, who posses them.
Further, if you want to know why Orcs are not as much affected by Chaos as humans are... its simple: They are dumb.
They simply cannot grasp the idea of Chaos... for humans, the Chaos is the ultimate easy way out. For elves it is the permition to be exactly the opposite as they were told to be.
Dwarves see it the same way as humans, yet dwarves are more honourable/stubborn to simply give in on their basic needs (except when it comes to gold)

They don't do it in Khorne's name, that's a massive difference. They do it because of their nature.

Sure. In 40k they even began worshipping a greater daemon of nurgle because they thought he was an avatar of gork and/or Mork.

    Essentially yes.

What about Goblins or hobgoblins? They are definatly much smarter (or at least sneakier and more cunning in the case of the night goblins), they dont seem to live soley for war and seem to lust after gold and such, surely they would be more effected by the gods of Chaos
