    Default Stupid Crusade

Okay, the Pope called a crusade on me. I made a ceasefire with him and he accepted. But the crusade is still on! I try to ceasefire with the crusading factions and the option "Ceasefire" doesn't appear. Is this normal?

    Another question:
My agents are failing ridiculously. I try over and over to eliminate certain crusading generals but even when the odds are like 60% my assassins fail (more than one time!). And now I've tried to assassinate one of them with like 54% chance and my assassins DIED! WTF? I've experienced this before (a general be "immune" to assassins no matter the chance). It made me rage-quit (), help me!

I don't use agents because they suck incredibly hard and the money would be better spent on troops or mercs.

Nope, you have to make peace to EVERY faction who joined the crusade. What faction are you playing as?

The moors. But I said in my post that the option "ceasefire" doesn't appear on the diplomacy menu.

The easiest way is just to give them the settlement either by diplomatic action or just leaving the settlement with no garrison troop and then reconquer, it'll be much easier and less costly. However, if you don't like this solution and you want to fight to the end, then the best strategy is to use horse skirmisher (like jinite, crossbow cavalry, or horse archer). About agent it's a matter of luck I rememberer once I was trying to assassinate a general with 95% and my agent was killed, however it did happen to me to assassinate a general with less than 15%.

Btw, when you're a crusade or a jihed target you can't make peace with any faction that it's attacking you only them can offer peace.

Oh, I forgot, you can only cease-fire when the crusade is successful or fails.

    Another question guys:

Still, no crusade army in sight, but the crusade wasn't called off yet. I think that happened because I conquered Rome, and then the Pope will never give up on ing me up . Will the crusade end at some point anyway? Does anyone know how many turns it takes for a crusade to fail?

I don't know exactly, I play SS, so... It seems to take forever, and I know it's longer than a Jihad by like double.

What I did when I conquered Constantinople with The Turks, I gave Iraklion to one of the crusading factions (the first at that time). What medhma said is true. Horse skirmishers (mounted x-bowmen, horse archers, horse javelins) are crucial. The western factions have heavy knights which can't chase and kill the mounted skirmishers. They are very useful. Like in the Battle of Nicopolis, when The Turks won the battle against the allied army of Hungarian, Wallachian, French, Burgundian, German.

    Good luck!

Well, you guys might like to know that the assassins ended up working and there's no crusading army in my sight until now... Some reached the city but they were ridiculous. I even got an excuse to take some settlements before I ceasefire.
