Retraining Generals

Hi,

I've made it so that I can recruit generals from castles however when I try to retrain them it wont allow me, the character is there but its greyed out. Also when I recruit it says unit at maximum pool however I can still recruit the unit.

Any help?

I've made it so that I can recruit generals from castles however when I try to retrain them it wont allow me, the character is there but its greyed out.

I'm not sure, but maybe those general units can't be retrained (to full numbers) cause they can "regenerate".

Also when I recruit it says unit at maximum pool however I can still recruit the unit.

Any help?

Unit at max pool means there can't be more (not none) of this unit there (in this settlement) ready for you to recruit (their "pool" is full)... Doesn't it?
It doesn't mean you can't recruit them...
