Help - Battle Camera Controls??

I've just returned from Xbox 360 land to play medieval total war 2 again ...

But when I start playing the battles I cant seem to move the camera around without using the mouse?

I thought I used to be able to move around the battle screen using either arrows or wasd but despite looking through forums, googling and messing around with camera settings & keyboard settings in game I still cant seem to fix this??

Its a small issue but one that is really annoying me as I prefer to scroll with arrows around the battle zone!

Also, am I losing my mind or was there not a way to select multiple units using ctrl or shift buttons??

Any help here would be great!

PS I've only bought a new copy of gold edition and its v1.03

Seems like you are on the general camera
On the battle map, Esc -> game option -> rts or tw camera.

Just tried that option again in the battle map and no keys on the keyboard will move or rotate camera

I've even tried re-installing game

Use the numerical keypad to move the camera, not wasd. Click and drag around units to select multiple units or Ctrl-click them on the unit cards.

I've tried all options on keyboard and still cant move camera with any keys - ctrl-click wont allow me to select multiple units either ...

Totally confused as to why this wont work??

even just tried the tutorial and when it advises to move camera using numpad there is no response
