    Default hiya! :)

hey everybody! im new to these forums , i have considered joining this one for a while and im glad to be finally here!! i suppose you guy dont do the fishystick ? XD

    anyway, to business!

im looking for a bit of advice about my current campain, im playing the juli faction, and as ever i am considering what to do next.

basically so far ive done pretty damn good, i love nicking all my fellow roman's conquests from right under their noses, ha ha they get so pissed but cant do anything about it!

right now ive managed to exspland my empire a little bit, ive conquered what i like to call the "air around the boot" that is to say all of the cities just outside italy, thats those too cities on the coast just east of italy, that city on the small island just east of SPOR, and i took liayabem (sorry i know that not how you spell it) - ow and segesta!

when i play the romans i tend to keep an eye more on my fellow roman houses than on my enimies (same differance) because i dont want to make it easy for them, so far the bruiti have done-well-crap if im honest, they havent captured a single city , they manged to take the big greek city just south of messana , but i guess the greeks didnt much like that because they revolted and a pretty big rebel army beat up the local bruti force, so now its a rebel town, im even makeing a beeline for it, with the hope to manipulate the brutii army into doing the dirty work and me with the city.

but now i have a number of options open to me, and id like you to choose one of the options (and why)

1.go to spain - easy campain and decent resources but difficult starting point

2.head north and attck germania, gaul, and britain (what your supposed to do)

    3.greece- its definantly got appeal

    4. finally i could attack the danish-thracian teriotory

so please give me your exsperianced advice!

    sincerly, fisher

I would advise you go into Spain, the first step being to capture Marseille(or whatever it's called in Rome, haven't played in a while), then going for Narbo Martius. Make sure to watch your flanks for Gallic attacks, see if you can ally with them and turn them loose on the Germanians. Conquering spain should be relatively easy, it's essentially Carthage without the good units. It'll serve you as a good springboard for operations into Africa and Gaul, expanding your own frontiers while shrinking that of the potential Scipii.

At the same time, try to take Larissa/Thessalonica, if you can, it will split Greece in two and if you've already cut off the Brutii then you can easily conquer the Peloponnesus while keeping a small border.
when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.

    First off, to the forums.

Good choice taking the Julii. To answer your question, I usually see what kind of campaign I want. If I'm aiming at getting a huge amount of cash, I'll make a beeline for Greece. It's pretty easy to get rich there. You said that you captured most of the cities surrounding Italy. I'd suggest taking Mediolanum and Patavium if you already haven't. They are very often critical for the expansion of the Julii, and make a perfect base for later expansion into the heart of Europe.

Assuming the Scipii and Brutii don't control much except their starting cities, I'd suggest making a start there by quickly trying to expand into Africa and Greece if you can, before the other Roman houses gain some momentum and begin their rapid expansion. Meanwhile, you can keep Mediolanum and Patavium well defended in case any barbarian faction decides to attack, and if possible, expand along the coastline. Just be careful though, the Gauls and Germans can give you a tough time.

    Have fun with your campaign.
WIP. Watch this space. It'll be epic.

    No, seriously.

I'd say, if you can manage go for all those options at once.

ow thanks guys , great to be here, ok so ive got mixed views XD, well i cant say i exspected anything else.

ive thought about it and i think i will take htose too gaul cities immediatly north of italy- after that? well i reckon the bruitii are not going anywhere in a long while, so i dont need to worry about them for now, but the scipii? well i admit its tempting just crash landing into spain , but somehow i have a feeling about spain- like said before if i can snatch the main cities before they can then that a slap in the face for them.

in reality however at the moment my money is strtched, my cities are going through what i call a "difficult phase" , for now i need to conserve my small kingdom , ill be keeping a close eye on greece, and if the scipii start makeing a move ill intervene quikley.

at he moment gaul havent yet made a move on me, though they are buzzing around that city west of the too cities immediatly north of your starting point, you know the one that starts off as a rebel town.

despite that im not concerned, ive got a huge carrison of men in there, if gaul decide they would like it they will get their asses kicked

ive decided now that im going to start fresh again on a new game- im going to start s my fav house the bruits.

im doing this so you guys can give me of-the-ground advice right form the beggining.

thanks for everything and please more advice!
