Forum Community Campaign
Settings SS6.4 + BGRV (SM version with 120403 Patch)
This is a new idea for a campaign that anyone and everyone can join even without installing the game.
This means you can play when travelling, at work, school or even from in prison.
Why BGRV? Because the difficulty is sufficient to make discussion worthwhile.
You can play in two ways, as an ADVISOR and/or as a GENERAL
Generals will take the turns so they need to install the game.
Advisors dictate the strategy via this forum.
Installation for Generals:-
1) Install SS6.4 + BGRV (SM version 120222 then 120304 Patch) from here
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...90#post7931090
2) Run SS Setup
Deselect all Options then Select
Gracul Ai
BGRV
No AI starting army
G5 ReallyBadAI Battle System
Set difficulty to VH VH and huge unit scale
Timed battles
Don't show enemy moves
Manage all settlements
No advisor
Advisors and Generals should both read the tips section on the BGRV page and download the manual.
Advisors propose and debate strategies to be enacted from the coming year begining in January like this:-
Begin your post with the following headings: Propose, Amend & Agree e.g.
PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
make war on faction x
The most agreed strategy by December must be followed by the generals as of January until the following December.
Generals who depart from the agreed strategy may be CENSURED by advisors.
This could involve banning them from taking any more turns for the following year (maximum ban is 12 months)
Censuring is not to be used spitefully but in the spirit of good roleplaying, perhaps for losing a battle they should have won etc.
It should be taken in good humour by the general.
Format For Submitting Strategies
The first turn is January and every year we must set the military service pool in this month which determines how many troops we can summon for the rest of the year.
So before the game can begin someone needs to propose a strategy like this:
PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
make war on faction x
Another advisor can then add his own thoughts by quoting the PROPOSAL from someone's post and ammending it like this:
PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
make war on faction x
AMENDMENT
set military service pool to 20
make war on faction x
+ prioritise conquering settlements A & B
Or Advisors can agree either the original proposal or the amended proposal or begin again with a new proposal like this:
PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
make war on faction x
AGREED
Or
PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
make war on faction x"
AMENDMENT
set military service pool to 20
make war on faction x
+ prioritise conquering settlements A & B
AGREED
or
PROPOSAL
Don't set military pool this year
Save money and optimise troop disposition for defence
Attempt to ally with faction X
Finally, you need the ability to change your mind and cancel your previous vote so do it like this:
If you previously posted
"PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
make war on faction x"
AGREED
now post
"PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
make war on faction x"
CANCEL
You are then free to post another proposal or agree with someone elses.
RULES
To start then we need a proposal.
Once a proposal has 4 people AGREE (the proposal is 1 vote + 3 people agreeing = 4)
If you are about to take a turn, announce it in this thread to prevent others taking the same turn.
Whoever takes a turn should save before hitting end turn and upload that save.
Any other general may then use that save to take his turn with.
The first General to upload his save will be accepted.
I don't want to waste time on too many rules, though if you see a glaring omission I'll add the new rule to the first post.
I suggest Hungary or Crusader States for the faction because they are catholic so we can have fun with the Pope and they are Eastern enough to be affected by Islamic factions and may encounter the Mongols.
But I am open to suggestions.
The chosen faction was HRE.
