    Forum Community Campaign

Settings SS6.4 + BGRV (SM version with 120403 Patch)

This is a new idea for a campaign that anyone and everyone can join even without installing the game.

This means you can play when travelling, at work, school or even from in prison.

Why BGRV? Because the difficulty is sufficient to make discussion worthwhile.

You can play in two ways, as an ADVISOR and/or as a GENERAL

Generals will take the turns so they need to install the game.
Advisors dictate the strategy via this forum.

    Installation for Generals:-

    1) Install SS6.4 + BGRV (SM version 120222 then 120304 Patch) from here
    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...90#post7931090

    2) Run SS Setup
    Deselect all Options then Select

    Gracul Ai
    BGRV
    No AI starting army
    G5 ReallyBadAI Battle System

Set difficulty to VH VH and huge unit scale
    Timed battles
    Don't show enemy moves
    Manage all settlements
    No advisor

Advisors and Generals should both read the tips section on the BGRV page and download the manual.

Advisors propose and debate strategies to be enacted from the coming year begining in January like this:-
Begin your post with the following headings: Propose, Amend & Agree e.g.

    PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
    make war on faction x

The most agreed strategy by December must be followed by the generals as of January until the following December.

Generals who depart from the agreed strategy may be CENSURED by advisors.
This could involve banning them from taking any more turns for the following year (maximum ban is 12 months)
Censuring is not to be used spitefully but in the spirit of good roleplaying, perhaps for losing a battle they should have won etc.
It should be taken in good humour by the general.

    Format For Submitting Strategies

The first turn is January and every year we must set the military service pool in this month which determines how many troops we can summon for the rest of the year.
So before the game can begin someone needs to propose a strategy like this:

    PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
    make war on faction x

Another advisor can then add his own thoughts by quoting the PROPOSAL from someone's post and ammending it like this:
    PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
    make war on faction x
    AMENDMENT
set military service pool to 20
    make war on faction x
    + prioritise conquering settlements A & B

Or Advisors can agree either the original proposal or the amended proposal or begin again with a new proposal like this:

    PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
    make war on faction x
    AGREED

    Or

    PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
    make war on faction x"

    AMENDMENT
set military service pool to 20
    make war on faction x
    + prioritise conquering settlements A & B
    AGREED

    or

    PROPOSAL
Don't set military pool this year
Save money and optimise troop disposition for defence
Attempt to ally with faction X

Finally, you need the ability to change your mind and cancel your previous vote so do it like this:

    If you previously posted
    "PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
    make war on faction x"
    AGREED

    now post
    "PROPOSAL
set military service pool to 20
    make war on faction x"
    CANCEL

You are then free to post another proposal or agree with someone elses.

    RULES
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
1)Deliberately wrecking the game = permanent ban
Obviously no cheating allowed. No reloading. No using the cheat console. We are all on the same team so cheating spoils the fun for everyone.

2)Remember, generals are not bound by any proposals until January and until then they need only obey the previously agreed strategy for the year they are in.

3)Generals may not take more than 3 turns in a row. Don't hog the turns if others clearly want a go. Max six turns per General per year.

4)Maximum CENSURE for a General (i.e.the player who took that turn) is to ban them from playing turns for 12 turns. They can still be advisors.

5)If you post a proposal then that is your vote. You cannot formally AGREE to another proposal without first cancelling your original vote.

6)If someone posts a corrupt saved game then feel free to ignore it and retake the turn from the previous save.

7)Generals do not have to stop taking turns whilst Advisors are deciding on a strategy except for the 1st turn.

8)If advisors have not submitted a proposal with three agreements in total by december then Generals have complete freedom from January until proposals are agreed. I expect this will cause anarchy.

9)The last person to vote cannot be the person to take the next turn. This avoids giving him a timing advantage to take more turns.

10)If you are about to take a turn, announce it in this thread to prevent others taking the same turn.

To start then we need a proposal.
Once a proposal has 4 people AGREE (the proposal is 1 vote + 3 people agreeing = 4)

If you are about to take a turn, announce it in this thread to prevent others taking the same turn.
Whoever takes a turn should save before hitting end turn and upload that save.
Any other general may then use that save to take his turn with.
The first General to upload his save will be accepted.

I don't want to waste time on too many rules, though if you see a glaring omission I'll add the new rule to the first post.

I suggest Hungary or Crusader States for the faction because they are catholic so we can have fun with the Pope and they are Eastern enough to be affected by Islamic factions and may encounter the Mongols.
But I am open to suggestions.

    The chosen faction was HRE.

We'll go with 3 votes for a faction then. So hungary has 1 and a half. Crusader states has a half.

HRE, HRE is somewhat better for it as it had various indepedent states inside of it, everybody can have his own state and the advisors are advisors of the king.

This sounds like it might work, if its not too complicated to implement.

Thats kind of a neat idea actually, hard to do with the game engine though i guess BGR makes it easier though.

    HRE is the winner then.

    I'll get things started then.

HRE has many regions so the military pool gets stretched pretty thinly, but too poor at start to afford a large pool so suggest a pool of ten now and ten next year. So here's a suggestion, expecting amendment.
I haven't actually looked at the map yet.

    PROPOSAL
    Set pool to 10
Place majority of inner settlements under central command
    Save money
Gather troops from existing settlements into armies.
    Defend south
Prepare to Attack north to remove northern front

I'll give general advice if that's alright.

    Adding on:
    Defend south from incursion.
    Remove Jutland from Danish control.
    Seek alliance with Norway.

Ok I assume ichon's post meant amend rather than agree, so his vote plus the next two gives the three votes he needs.
My instructions were a bit ambiguous though as to whether you need 3 votes total or 3 after a proposal so we can require one more vote for now as this first year is the only year needing a vote limit. All subsequent years go to the majority counted by December.

Henry x was offering general advice rather than a Proposal so if he wants to edit his post (on this occasion only)to a proposal then he has three votes also. If he chooses not to edit then his idea was effectively proposed in the next post.

Try to make intentions clear or things can get messy. Good start though.
