What if alexander died while you are playing the campaign via old age or died in battle.

Then you lose and have to start again.

Yet another reason not to get this game.

Well now it's harder, and you're still not satisfied.

I think you need not fear him dying of old age: there is far too little time for him to grow old. And you can hardly play a game about Alexander the Great if you manage to get him killed in the first battle, now do you?

Well they( CA )havent said anything about it being harder, or even if you will lose if Alexander dies, so it being harder is just an assumption.

And people are not satisfyied not because they think its going to be easy. its because they think that you are only going to be able to play as Macedon, which again is an assumption, but givin CAs past record with RTW, its justifyied. In RTW, Macedon and Armenia were almost finished, a map could have been made and descriptions could have been written in no time,but CA just opted to make them unplayable.

I agree on the Macedonia and Armenia part, and I'm pretty sure Macedon will be the only faction playable in Alexander (or at least the only faction unlocked from the start).

But making sure your family member has to stay alive does make the game harder, you know.

And i dont disagree. But it has not been said by CA that you will lose if Alexander dies, so its an assumption.
