Default Change Unit weapon via scripting?

    My question here is...

If I wanted to give the berdiche axe to frankish axemen, how would I go about it (if possible) by scripting/text editing?

Secondly, Im interested in making a new swiss halberdier unit by using the gothic knight unit as a base. Essentially all I want to do is to duplicate the unit and provide it with a pike instead of a sword. How would this be achieved?

    Thanks.

-Edit- Just tried to add pike to dism gothic knight... crash to desktop... any ideas?

If you want it too look like it's changed then you have to change the model.

When you say change the model, are you referring to visual changes by using texture editing, or by altering the battle_models.db?

-EDIT- Sorry Emperor of Hell, didn't see the reply when posting. I'll check the link out now... thank you
-EDIT2-Emperor of Hell... just what I was looking for... many thanks. +rep.

One time you will have finished to make your model(in MS3D or similar), you will be able to determine what weapons should be available from the weapon upgrade.

There is a box of comments related to every element(sword, legs, arms, halleberds...)

    primaryactive0
    Voulge
    0

    primaryactive0
    Swisshalberd
    1

0 means basic weapon, 1 means available from upgrade(weapon_melee_blade 1 into your building file)
