Unable to Land Troops.

Been playing Total War since Shogun, first time I modded my favourite game, Rome: Total war. I'm using a Windows XP, up to date with RTW (1.5), Not using Steam, my Instillation path Is My computer, not Program files, My launcher Is Rome: Total War.exe and the one-turn campaign. I've tried to land a large force on Sicily, but after I clicked on the ground for them to land the General Avatar appeared on top of my naval fleet and I was unable to move them. Is there anyway to sort the bug out?

Not really But let's try something else.

Save that to load again.
Try downloading the free 'Fraps' program.
Use it to take a screenshot. F10 is the hotkey I believe.

If you are running windows,the Paint program can crop the shot small enough to load. If not set up a Photobucket account, ( really very easy ) And then post the shot.

Other than that you may be too close to that city. Or have run out of movement .

A similar thing has happened to me once when I tried to merge two armies, I had to reload the previous save but the army was just standing there whilst the flag kept flashing. I don't know what happened but I guess it was a random glitch.

Does it work when you land somewhere else on the island??

You cannot just land troops anywhere. There are certain places on the map where it is not allowed. I forget what they're called, but there's a command line switch that allows one to see them. Anyway, just try somewhere else.

I tried doing the same place to land troops and as DVk said there are certain places on the map that just won't take troops.

That is one of them.

As stated, you just can't land troops there. Nothing more to discuss I reckon so thread closed.
