PFOS
What it is, watch here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfluo...esulfonic_acid
Of course, you can also put the term into Google for more results.
Recently, new studies show that PFOS is still found today in way too high dosis' in diverse investigated typical products which are sold every day, even the according producers have apparently no idea, from where this comes.
The assumption is, the polution is that high in the environment, that it comes back ie. via water into the production-chain/processes (and so also into our households).
Similar case, PFOA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PFOA
Replacement stuffs for PFOS are known to be not much less dangerous, but that needs more digging.
While this thing is only one of a million, so to speak, here we have a typical case of where the government has to oversee production, the economy (i know, this last paragraph is not a science-theme for this section, but i couldn't resist to mention it).
