Default Ex-Senators Say Saudi Arabia May Be Linked to 9/11

    From ABC:

Two former Senators who led inquiries into the 9/11 attacks (and were privy to top secret information on the Saudis’ activities) have issued sworn statements that they believe the government of Saudi Arabia, a key U.S. ally in the fight on terrorism, may have played a role in the terror attacks ten years ago.

"I am convinced that there was a direct line between at least some of the terrorists who carried out the September 11th attacks and the government of Saudi Arabia," said former Senator Bob Graham, a Florida Democrat, in an affidavit filed as part of a lawsuit brought against the Saudi government by families of Sept. 11 victims and others. Graham led a 2002 Congressional probe of the attacks.

Bob Kerrey, a Nebraska Democrat who served on the 9/11 Commission, said in a separate affidavit that "significant questions remain unanswered" about the role of Saudi institutions. "Evidence relating to the plausible involvement of possible Saudi government agents in the September 11th attacks has never been fully pursued."

Families of the 9/11 victims released a statement praising Kerrey and Graham for their affidavits, which were filed in a New York federal court Friday to rebut claims by the Saudi government in recent court papers that the 9//11 Commission had "exonerated" it of any connection to 9/11
This is a path that definitely needs to be ventured down. Of course, I believe the process will be stonewalled all the way, but only true justice can be served if the Saudi connection is completely explored.

Once a political decision has been reached to proceed with internal disturbances in Syria, CIA is prepared, and SIS (MI6) will attempt to mount minor sabotage and coup de main [sic] incidents within Syria, working through contacts with individuals. Incidents should not be concentrated in Damascus. [A] necessary degree of fear, [...] frontier incidents and [staged] border clashes [will] provide a pretext for intervention. The CIA and SIS should use [...] capabilities in both psychological and action fields to augment tension. [Funding should be provided for a] Free Syria Committee [and arms should be supplied to] political factions with paramilitary or other actionist capabilities.

The US was almost inviting this at the time with the Visa Express program.

What needs to be explored, if anything, is why, if there were 'significant questions left unanswered' they weren't addressed at the time instead of 9 years later... smells extremely fishy.

Robert Baer has always believed that there was involvement of an undisclosed countries intelligence services. It sounds as if this is a CIA-wide belief. Ive come across this mentioned from other unnamed sources within the US intelligence community. There is apparently significant evidence of false flag type operations in conjunction with keeping the plot secret. Meant to throw off typical means of intelligence gathering - especially of the electronic variety that could only be done through an established intelligence service. Even then, we absolutely should have been able to stop the attacks.

Saudi Arabia would probably be on that shortlist of suspects for various reasons. Chiefly - process of elimination. Saudi Arabia has little if any motive. They are connected so closely to the US in several ways, including monetarily. And this couldn't be a case of any particular Saudi prince acting alone.

I think there are more logical suspects that have little to no such connections. The reasons for not going public with it, are many.

    getting closer...
The latest is an agreement signed between the China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which will use the Yuan for oil trade.

The deal is worth around $5.5 billion dollars and the Chinese central bank said that the deal aims at “strengthening bilateral financial cooperation, promoting trade and investments and jointly safeguarding regional financial stability”
if it is true that is.

If US really wants to fight terrorism then SA should be first on the list.

Isn't that something one could have concluded from the passports of the 9/11 terrorists? Of course, it is a leap to think the SA government was involved, but that there was an intelligence failure or lack of cooperation or a certain sub faction in SA directly or indirectly supporting Al Qaeda should be obvious for quite some time.

Overall that most of the radical Islamism of Al Qaeda comes from Saudi Arabia and its radical Wahabism and still has a broad following there - although those guys would like the SA monarchy's head on spikes - is pretty common knowledge.

And when the last warrior was dying, he said, 'We gave you everything, why did you destroy us?' And she looked down upon him and she whispered, 'Because I can.' "

Considering the high level of corruption among Saudi businessmen, royal family members, and the GIP, it wouldn't be surprising. Hell, Osama was from Saudi Arabia, and the country remains the largest supporter of terrorism. It goes through all levels, from small towns to royalty, supporting different criminals with different causes.

It's bothered me for a long time how Saudi Arabia gets a free pass for human rights abuse and dictatorial governing. Because of its stranglehold on the world oil supply, of course. But I'm sure there's plenty of more 'modern' people, royals as well, that would eagerly take the opportunity to displace the current regime and maintain oil production and an amicable relationship with western states...

Tho I enjoyed sarcasm in this post but I think this is not the case. Most probably a politician wants media attention.
"I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Saviour of Humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today." Surprise? Not really, it is a long fact that Saudi government is as fishy as Pakistan government - they are not even sure which of their men are loyal and which are not, not to mention prevent some intelligences leak to outside groups.

While it wouldn't surprise me if Saudi Arabia (or some part of its government) was involved, pursuing this path of investigation is at best worthless and at worst, harmful to US interests. Picking a diplomatic fight with the Saudis, or god forbid attacking them, would be the one of the worst mistakes the US could make.

Whether the UAE or even Saudi Arabia uses the dollar for oil trading isn't really that significant. Our ties with them and the Gulf States is far more political and strategic in mind than it is economic at this point. Maybe if it were Canada being mentioned then it would mean something.
