Full stack spawning?
I just experienced this is a game last night, full stacks spawning seemingly from nowhere (outside of settlements). Is this something recently added (maybe through scripting) or did I just miss seeing where these stacks came from.
Situation was me playing as Eriador, it's around turn 90 and I hold Tharbad, Byrig, Duneard, and Talsir. Isengard has been reduced to only Orthanc and the tiny Lond Angren province. Rohan and Eriador are both going strong (though there is an invasion of Edoras currently in progress). Suddenly two full stacks of Isengard troops appear in the field outside Byrig. I'm willing to accept that it's possible that I missed seeing these stacks marching from Orthanc or that they were hiding in the forest nearby, but it feels unlikely. Is there another explanation?

Re: Full stack spawning?
Check the faq thread. There are scripts that give the AI free stacks when certain conditions are met.(they lose an important settlement, have less than 3 regions left etc).
These scripts are called Help weakened factions script and Last stand script and can be deleted in Third_Age_3/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial campaign/campaign_script.txt but it is not savegame compatible.hf

Ah thank you very much, that makes sense now. I was baffled as to where these troops came from.
I don't think I'll delete those scripts, I was just confused where these huge number of troops suddenly came from and I wasn't prepared to deal with them. Now that I know these scripts exist I can be prepared for next time.
