Wrong cd with RTW:Gold

Hi,

Ik have Rome:Total war Gold edition. I recently started playing RTW again and I thought I'd give RTR a try since it is now 1.5 compatible. Only after I installed RTR it says I have to insert the correct cd, while obviously I already have.

Any idea's how come? I have a fresh install with no mods.

NOTE: if you have Rome Total War Gold Edition on a single DVD you will probably get a message like "wrong CD" or something like that when you will start the game. That is becouse the "RomeTW.exe" file that comes with RTRPE is from a CD version of RTW and it is not compatible with your DVD version. What you have to do is copy the original "RomeTW.exe" from the folder where you have saved/backup your game and then overwrite the one from the folder where you have the game(RTW) + RTRPE. You can avoid this from the start by deleting the "RomeTW.exe" file from the RTRPE folder prior to the copying and pasting phase.

Unfortunately that didn't help enough. That does start now, but only to CTD whenever I start a game, campaign or custom battle.

Make sure you have deleted all instances of "map.rwm" in the data\worlds folder (could be in data\world\maps\base and/or data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign).
