Start without a particular faction?

Hi. I like this mod, but think it's a little bit limiting in buildning an empire, since there are allies everywhere and it simply hurts killing them off. I would like to start without a faction, say Eriador... is it possible to moddify a file so that Eriador will die and become rebel once the campaign starts?

You could delete Eriador from the files, give their lands to the rebels in descr_strat.txt but this probably screws up some scripts.
It could probably be done by scripting too but I'm no scripter.

Yes, but that is like you say a lot of work. Would be easier if the faction "died" at the beginning. Maybe by killing of the faction leaders and heirs? Making them really old at the campaign start?

I am pretty sure there is a command you can enter to kill a faction.

So u are playing high elves and eriador is in the way.Cancel alliance and destroy them the the old-fashioned way.Then u can have your elven empire!

Nope, not that I know of, and I've googled.

Edit: I've googled some more and found this: surrender_regions "faction". Cant test it now however, but hope it works.

Put this just before wait_monitors line in campaign_script.txt

console_command kill_faction turks

I feel u.I still remember my first high elves campaign in 2.1-I had Eriador completely surrounded.It felt really stupid...But i never attacked them...
