    Default Half-Life 2 Episode One...

I'm surprised no one made a topic about this yet. I got it yesturday and just beat it. Personally I think its alsome, the levels are very cleverly designed, the story is really good, and theres no glitches/bugs. A lot of thought has been put into its design and I'm pretty impressed. The only bad thing is its over before I know it

Sounds like a lot of fun...but it isn't for the Xbox yet.

I doubt they will make it for Xbox. I hope Episode Two come out soon, this one ended in a pretty big cliff hanger.

The cliff hanger wasn't has bad as it was at the end of Half Life 2 ( I mean that danm thing blew up in your face and you didn't know what happen to Alyx just that you were going to be held agin like the G man did to you befor you can come out and play) this one you just *spoiler*

on the train while the brain blast things fly over the train and everything gose white and the game ends for now. It didn't leave me feeling as bad as Half Life 2 had me feeling when I beat it.

It's a scam to squeeze you for your cash. If all three episodes were combined into one then it might amount to a real expansion pack and be worth it.

To tell you the truth, I like this way better. Instead of waiting for another year or two they get to release them sooner. And the price is about right at $20.

Bought it and beat it today.

    Well made. Good level design.

No loose ends tied up from the story. 20 bucks is too much for 4 hours.

Play it on hard, I found this one is much easier than Half-Life 2.

By the way, anyone saw the Episode 2 trailer? That made me want to buy Episode 2 even more. :original:

I skipped it the first time because I didn't realize what it was. I went back and played it a few minutes later. While I know I will buy episode 2, I know I won't be happy with it.

I usually compare entertainment cost to movies. I like long games, or multiplayer games. If I spend 7$ at a theatre for a 1.5 - 2.5 hour movie.. I expect at the very extreme least, that cost/hour ratio out of a game. If I buy a game new, I need to spend at the very least 15-20 hours on it (that's full, new game price). This cost me $20 (Canadian), and took me 4 hours to complete. So while I enjoyed the game, I'm not happy with the cost for the short experience.

And they sure took their sweet time making this much content.

In summary: I hate Valve. It's too bad they make good games.

I was thinking about getting it. I don't own half-life 2, and I'm unsure whether I should get the cheaper Episode One or HL2 itself. I take it Episode One contains HL2's multiplayer-possibilities?

It does contain Half life 2 Deathmatch and half life source deatmatch (remade deathmatch fromt he original half-life), but half-life 2 came with counterstrike, which is by far the more popular muliplayer game.

I'm not sure about it but I have seen some review of this game which point out that you don't need original game actually... not sure about this...
