Yea i read the thread and it seems like its not fully save-game compatible. I'll try it out though regardless of saved games. I love eye candy!

Can anyone point me in the right direction to manually change the texture files so I can finally install this mod??
Rapidshare link will not allow me to DL version 1.03.
I just used the V1.02 and made the change as noted in this post (I just assumed that was the only change made from v1.02 to v1.03).

I then made the manual edits and moved the texture files over merging with existing foler/replacing existing files. Seems to be running fine although I don't think I've reached a point in the game that is affected by the changes.
Nice thread!
Its too my wish since a while to implement some stuff from MB modders.
Its work easily with the Dejawolf's helmet pack, but I failed to convert the Narf's transitional armors, its got screwed in game...
good luck Baraban
Many thanks for the kind messages, much appreciated!
I've updated the link to version 1.03 on page one, the Rapidshare link has been pulled down and I've gone back to using Mediafire again since they seem to be a lot more reliable these days.
You can grab it here:- http://www.mediafire.com/?acca7g775p4s5zc
Let me know if you run into any issues.
Best,
Someone guide me how to install this? I did it entirely wrong last time and messed my game up.
Yeah, unfortunately editing the battle_models.modeldb can be extremely unforgiving. I always back mine up because missing a single character or getting any one of the numbers inside it wrong, or even using it with another mod which adds new units and changes the battle_models.modeldb, will make the game crash spectacularly... I'm back home now, so if you're really struggling and need help I can try and assist, or if that doesn't work I can edit your battle_models.modeldb and send it back for you to test out?
So the unit list on post #1, did you edit or create new models for them?
A bit of both Andy, they're a mixture of base meshes that came with the vanilla game, edited slightly and mixed with some new meshes, there were also some new textures added too... Nothing fancy though, as I was still learning when I released the initial version some years back....
Download and have a look for yourself and feel free to mess about with them, they're more of an open resource than a bona fide mod, and as such I probably won't be making any more changes to them, as I'm too busy with other projects - the main one which I'm enjoying the most right now is that a few colleagues and I that are in the same charity are currently recreating a small medieval town on a private Minecraft server used by kids that are suffering from leukaemia and other types of cancer, mainly as a way of expressing themselves and interacting socially... So I apologise in advance if I might take a while responding to any messages 'etc', I'm not ignoring anyone, just really busy!![]()
E-mailed you Baraban
Thanks WarbornUK, let me know if you run into any problems!
I've added a link on the first post to the new versions of this submod, including one that's fully compatible with Caudillo87's Roman_Persian units mod.
Since editing the battle_models.modeldb file was causing too many crashes (and headaches) for inexperienced users, I've redesigned it now so all that people need to do is unpack the contents of the mod into their SS6.3 data folder, replacing older files as necessary... Then play the game.... Nice and simple!!

It's a belated +1 rep, but you deserve it, sir, for everything you've done! This mod is fantastic. Why haven't you won any awards for this? Your cooperation and collaboration with Caudillo87 and his mod is exactly what we were looking for. I can only share my gratitude. Cheers.![]()
Great work sir. I Absolutely love the Gothic Plate on english knights.
Someone needs to make a war of the roses mod!

Hello once again Baraban. I was hoping to make a humble request of your greatness.
You've done so much work for us, it truly is inspiring. You've made the units look SO MUCH BETTER. By leaps and bounds, eons, miles, etc. You've done just about everything one could ask for.
However, I have to say that my favorite faction to play with, Venice, is largely untouched by your mod. True, the Southern European late bodyguard features your late knight model in the unarmored version, and so do the knights templar and hospitallers that are available to Venice. However, while all the other European factions sport at least one other unit with the late knights, Venice does not, and their unit roster would look so awesome with something similar. Using the export_descr_unit.txt file, I've been able to edit Broken Lances and make them look this way in their most maxed out version, by changing their armor upgrade model type to Late Southern European bodyguard. However, I was thinking more rank and file, with a cavalry unit plus a dismounted unit that could have this late knight model. Perhaps Italian MAA would do? Or Broken Lances? Both mounted and dismounted?
Would you be so gracious and wise as to fulfill my New Year's wish!![]()
I advise you to look into other mods on the forum that have Venice as a faction.
I myself have loads of other mod's units in my Stainless Steel gamebuild.
It is completely legal to merge material of multiple mods into a single mod for personal usage.
Italian wars and Bellum Crucis 7.0 would be my first two choices.
Baraban replied to me on my profile page and suggested that I was in fact using an old, outdated version of his mod. HE WAS CORRECT! I downloaded his mod once again (the one compatible with Caudillo's Komnenian-Kwarezmian unit sub-mod) and voila! Everything works like a charm. I now have awesome looking Venetian men at arms and broken lances, and that makes me very, very happy.
However, I will look into what you have suggested in piecing together bits and pieces of other mods. That sounds very appealing, actually.![]()
Are they? That could be really good!
Well the Two Thrones submod for the M2TW mod "Guerre de Cent Ans" is compatible with kingdoms;

I have no idea about a new one being made.
