    In case other people might have this issue, I got around it by going on units tab, selecting a unit, then press button for ownership to bring the factions list. Then when adding models the faction list will appear. Apparently needs to be done 1 time each time you open the tool.

    Any help, anyone, please

    I've tried uninstalling net framework(s), installing again, updating java, redownloaded the tool and reextracted, tried loading different mods, using the tool from another user on my laptop, I don't know what else to do

    When I try to load Broken Crescent Kingdoms into the UnitEditor, I get a error that says "something werid happened while reading model late_knights_hospitaller_foot" over and over again.

    Second, i'm want to load a bunch of Broken Crescent units into SS 6.4 with the Komenian Roster submod. The EDU has 500 already. Do I have to manually delete some units, then use the program?

    I have never used the program but if you want to add any units you will have to delete some first. Its a lot easier to just swap out existing units.

    It was recommended to me, that I use this unit editor, since i've had issues with my modelDB, that are not showing up in my system.log. I know it's my modelDB, because it was the modelDB that changed, and caused my game to CTD. Can anyone give me some instructions for how I would use this to check for errors in my modelDB?

    I'm getting a "huge error!" notification whenever I try to load my SS6.3 mod into the unit editor. The log made by the unit editor says this;

    Reading file: descr_cultures.txt.
    Culture count: 5.
    Reading file: descr_sm_factions.txt.
    Factions count: 29.
    Reading file: descr_sounds_accents.txt.
    Accent count: 9.
    Reading file: descr_projectile.txt.
    Projectile count: 170.
    Reading file: descr_engines.txt.
    Engine count 26.
    Reading file: descr_skeleton.txt.
    Skeleton count: 152.
    Missing file: descr_ship.txt.

    I don't think unit editor can help you fix syntax (?) errors, better go back to a backup and start again, or take out 1 model at a time from those you added/modified until game doesn't CTD and the unit editor loads it.

    It's a false alarm. I'd get rid of that antivirus in your place.

    Wait, what? Can you or someone else please explain this? I'm confused by your choice of words here. Exactly how are EDU and BMDB different saving methods?

    From what I noticed, the save sorted option automatically removes units/models that aren't used, but also removes extra lines and comments. I use only the regular save option because of this.

    The sorted option does all of the regular stuff plus this:

    Sorted EDU - sorted by category, like this:
    Code:
    ;Generated by Unit Editor

    ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
    ;1.  General Units
    ;2.  Mounted units
    ;2.1.Mounted Ranged
    ;2.2.Mounted Melee
    ;3.  Infantry units
    ;3.1.Infantry Ranged
    ;3.2.Infantry Melee
    ;4.  Siege Engines
    ;5.  Ships
    ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
    Sorted BMDB - removes unused model entries as well as entries for factions that do not exist in the descr_sm_factions file. It does not check the script or descr_characters for battle models, so keep a copy if you use models that are not based in the EDU!

    I'm having a problem loading the units from the Elder Scrolls Mod. Unit Editor gets stuck on "Checking Skeletons."

    Same here. The program continues to print the same error message: "[Error] Model '16 dagoth_swordsmen' uses an unknown skeleton type '' (battle_models or descr_skeleton)." resulting in a massive text file.

    If I let it run I get a .net error. I am running the latest .net update.

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    Most likely that animation simply doesn't exist. Is it a unit that is in game\in play?

    Yes, it works in battles.

    Edit: I've removed that unit from EDU, EDB, and battle_models and the tool is now working. I'll just add that unit back in later after I make my changes.

    It could be a formatting issue in descr_skeleton where this animation is concerned.
