That is a possibility - a mix-up in the sound folder I guess.
@Daruman
Glad to have another happy customer
@DesertFoxx19:
You don't really need to use the launcher - have a look at this tutorial if you want to do so: Creating a World - Mod Install for Steam
I love your install program too. GREATLY lessened the difficulty in getting the mod working. I think it should be on the front page as THE install program for English users. Makes it on par (if not better IMO) than the Third Age mod, especially since I like this world more than LOTR.
Gigantus would you implement paramed fix for the Reikland: bugged texture of Kotbs on a patch?
Here it is:
PROUD TO BE A PESANT. And for the dimwitted, I know how to spell peasant. <== This blue things are links, you click them and magical things (like not ending up like a fool) happens.

So that fix is worth only for the "vanilla" version, not yours?

The modelDB I attached follows the thought that only the order_knights attachment lines need correcting - not all non-averland entries.
It should work for both versions (CoW and RodG) - could you try and confirm? I didn't get the time to test and that's why I didn't put it into the 'Quick Fix' post.
Sure can do sir. I'll test it tonight (currently 10:30 am local hour)

Done. It works wonders my friend. But I noticed, that even installing the mod on a English installation of the game the voice of the Beastmen armies remains mute. I'm downloading the English voicemod to see if it works.

Mr. Gigantus, now that I have tested it fully, it has come to my attention that indeed the beastmen don't have voices on your version of your mod. Now, it's easily fixed by employing the English Translation 1.5.1, however using that make yet another problem, most of the portraits of the units descriptions turns into Rome peasants, to fix this I employed the this file, which is in fact the export_descr_unit.txt of your patch 005.
However this is of course a workaround, as I suspect that the issue with the beastmen voices lies in a simple line of code within your very same mod, unless again, I'm just having bad luck with it.

Has the issue described in post #881 been fixed?
If not, would someone please describe a short howto on getting them working with the mod in its current state?
Do we need to apply the English Translation and "Fix for 1.5.1" or is that included already?
Do we also need to do the following from the ModDB instructions for 1.5?
1) remove version 1.4.4 (if installed)
2) Disable UAC and other things if you are Win 7 or Vista user
3) Run installer and game as administrator, it is absolutely necessary
4) delete all map.rwm files from data\world\maps\ - do that each time after updating mod files
5) delete strings.bin files from data\text\ folder - rarely necessary

I don't see these instructions here. Is this still necessary? (I'm on Windows 8 x64 if that's relevant)
Thank you.
Voices is a matter of the sound text files and the generating of new sound files - something I really don't want to get into as it involves huge (size wise - voices only is presently 400MB) uploads.
RodG utilizes the pic_dir entries in the EDU to reduce the download size - why have the same 500KB info picture for all factions if you can have just one? That way the unit_info folder is only 100Mb instead of the 6-700MB (I think) that it was in the original release.
Err, disregard that. I looked back over the instructions for the launcher app for Steam users to see if I'd missed a step somewhere, and realized I'd not selected which executable it should use, so it was using Medieval 2 instead of the Kingdoms executable. Fixed now, and the mod launched, for the first time ever on my computer hehe.
Would you (or anyone else) be so kind as to say exactly what you did with your Steam version to get it to work that way? I have the same exact error report you had, and when I change it from "Medieval II" to "Kingdoms" in the Kingdoms Launcher App I get a crazy error box from a Just In Time Debugger or something. When I change it back to Medieval II it'll go to startup and crash with the Closing the Portal error message. Is there a Steam setting I need to change? I have Kingdoms and it's installed, but there's no separate .exe in the Steam folder, just the launcher and Medieval II. I think it's the Gold edition if I remember my purchase right.
The contents of the error box (It gives me an option for details to read this, continue and hope the thing starts [which it never did], and quit to exit Medieval II):
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Also attached is my error log when I startup with Medieval II selected.
Thanks anyone and everyone willing to help!
And since I just made an account to get help with this error and can't figure out how to edit my message, I'd like to add that:
Yes, I have installed all three components of the mod and the patch pack with the quickfixes. The first thing I did when I got this error was to reinstall everything step by step.
Yes, I have followed the guide for the UAC and disabled that.
Yes, I have followed the guide for Steam Mod Installing, though since this appears to be a Steam issue perhaps I'm mistaken.
The final entry of your log is this:
If this happens when using the med2 option in the steam launcher, then it is understandable as the entry is indeed not recognized by medieval2.exe22:16:59.972 [script.err] [error] Script Error in mods/Rage_of_dark_Gods/data/descr_projectile.txt, at line 1211, column 31
Unrecognised entry
This might sound silly, but have you got any of the kingdoms campaigns installed? Because the JIT message seems to indicate that 'kingdoms.exe' is not present.
First thank you for this really painfree installation. It's just a cosmetical issue but please look at this thread when you have some freetime:

I don't know if its just the gigantus version is affected by this or the original too.
Thank you
That's exactly what the problem was, Gig. I bought Medieval II during a Steam sale and haven't touched it in a while, I just assumed I had purchased the complete pack since I had the option to play the other campaigns (and because I tried them out before and liked them). So I bought Kingdoms and installed it, and have since been piling up skulls for the skull throne.
One weird thing that happened is, as I was fighting a unit of Marauder Horsemen gave one of the Orc lines about being green.
Thanks for making this, it's incredibly fun and I'm very happy to have it working!
Any way to get Slaaneshi generals to chant Slaaneshi things on the campaign map instead of Khorne things?
