I was just wondering, is it possible to have it so a general with a certain ancillary/trait gets a different bodyguard then normal? I'll give you an example: every general with the house of var ancillary, gets Bodyguard of var.

My mods
-Mod Leader for the Wheel Of Time This is not the beginning, but it is a beginning
-Mod Leader for Shogun 2: Foreign Invasion if you want a mod with alot of units this is for you, not only is there the 40 units CA made theres planned to be atleast 177 NEW units when its done.
-Modder in the World War I and Shogun II project. The only full scale mod for FOTS and it plays nothing like FOTS. FOTS may have Gatling guns, WW1&S2 has tekidanto samurai, SNLF, MGs, kisho snipers, assault infantry(shotguns) just to name a few.
I don't think that's possible..but i'm quite a noob
anyway,
there was a certain Third Age submod that managed to change BGs midgame, but even that had its limitations

Damn it that will make my mod much more limited.

You can edit the "starter's" generals bg by descr_strat or you can spawn generals by script and thereby give a special bg. But a connection from trait/anc to bg has never been found and searched a lot.

You right! One can change number of BG troops via trait or anc by adding personal security. That's why Kinds and Heirs in normal game have bigger BGs. What I did this to my personal mod of TA was to include ancs and traits thar modify BG numbers and generals Hps moreover I edited a lot of unique BGs by desc_strat so in Gondor f.ex. theres a Axemen Bg, a P. Marines BG and so on...
But only for the starters; later BGs that spawn "normal" by coming_of_age or adoption etc. still have the one bg; for Gondor its a cav unit.
By the way the "general_unit"-unit of any faction that comes first in EDU is the one that the new guys get.
Other possibility is only via script afaik.
