Really bad FPS in Napoleon Total War?

I recently bought NTW and I played it on 'Automatic settings', which was on high by default, I got 30 FPS while zoomed out and 10-15 while zoomed in... my PC is nothing special and doesn't work with Total War games very well but my friend has a naerly identical PC ( Only with ATI instead of Nvidia ) and he runs it on high with 40-50 FPS... I posted my Dxdiag, can anyone help me increase FPS? I get 80 FPS on low but 30 on medium... very annoying...

Hmmm. Lets start off by not looking at the program itself, but your computer. Run a full computer virus & malware check. After that download Ccleaner and delete all of the junk from your computer & Fix registry issues. (This can be done once you have downloaded and installed Ccleaner: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner ). If that doesn't work, make sure you have downloaded the latest patches and that your graphics card drivers are up to date.

Odd... after editing something in NVIDIA control panel and installing the latest ( I was one version behind ) driver I got 30 FPS while zoomed out on max with a lot of options checked, 15-20 while zoomed in... but on high with nothing checked I get almost the same ammount... I do have the latest patches installed.

I guess it had to do with the latest drivers then.

I still get rather bad FPS, but my FPS on high and max is almost identical... wtf? Weird bugs........

Yup, weird. I get rather bad FPS too, but it's still playabe with 15-20 FPS.

Yeah It's playable... but I most enjoy total war games while zooming in and seeing its awesomeness... guess I'll try and play with 15-20 FPS while zoomed in...

I play with 15-20 FPS when zoomed in and it works fine mate. No problems at all.

Hmmm, that seems odd. Maybe it's just due to the horrible lag. Sometimes when I lag, the mouse is slow. But, if it's running at a constant FPS then it shouldn't be a problem, once you get used to it. You'll get used to it my friend.

Thanks for all the help mate... really appreciate it, and yeah the FPS does jump a lot... maybe that's the cause... anyway thanks for all the help again ^^

In TW games is normal to have bad FPS when you zoom in.
