Aragon = Barbarian faction?

I'm playing with Aragon, two of my cities have already reached the highest buildable palace (they have a population of over 6000 people). So Aragon is a barbarian faction, with the same faction tree as barbarian factions in Vanilla: is this hardcoded or is it possible to make them a 'civilised' faction?

I was under the impression that none of the catholic factions could build passed the Minor City stage in the Early Era. I think it was mentioned in one of the previews.

Yes it is. i think that the later eras start in the 1200s.

I should think that any minor countries (Barbarian- I think should be renamed to minor countries) should, once they reach a curtain pop and their city can be built up and/or they conqure a curtain amount of pronvinces then they go from minor country to a kingdom and then Empire. Although i dont know much iv missed alot of what been going on.

They should actually be able to build the higher city level core buildings... hmm
Edit: For me it works without problems with Aragon. Did you change any chivalry files?
