    Default Experience and arty

Can anyone tell me what improves on arty units with gaining experience ? Accuracy, speed of reload..?

    Thx...

I'm not entirely certain but in my experience arty seems to shoot more accurately. Could be a trick of the light though.

Other than that, the crew gets attack and morale buffs if they get into melee.

I think experience has no effect on either accuracy or rate of fire for artillery units.

Experience does affect the accuracy of archers, though.

This makes sense because the game engine considers the artillery missiles to be shot from siege weapons, which is a physical object separate from the operators.

Yah, it would make sense, it's just that i'm nore if it's really like that. It's not something that you could easily test...

I don't know if it is the same in vanilla M2TW, but in my first TATW game I found that the more experience the artillery had, the more deadly and more accurate it got. The artillery was so nasty I kept it even though it took many turns to move it to a useful location as the game went on (one reason why you might break the rule about disbanding if you have no use for your troops for five moves). I'm pretty sure I have noticed the same effect in my current Britannia campaign, although I haven't got the same level of experience yet - the artillerymen have to catch some prisoners before their experience really begins to mount up. It seemed to me that both damage and accuracy improved with experience.

I'm not 100% positive, but Ballista and Cats seemed more accurate once I got them to gold experience.
