    Default Javelins

Hi, I have always been a huge fan of using javelins in my army setup during vanilla and other mods like stainless steel. Did a couple short campaigns to get into the game and I have to say I love, great work

However I'm having some troubles playing with javelins in this mod. I have no clue if this is a know issue or just ignorance on my part. Most of the times they just stand still and don't fire at the enemies despite having being ordered to do so. Other times only a small portion fire while the rest stands still. There isn't even an animation.

My other question is about elephants. How do you deal with them without javelins? That was my first counter to them but they can't do much. Will archers do the same job?

Javelins can be weird if you have any unit of yours engaged with enemy, often they refuse to throw I guess to prevent friendly fire? Also if the enemy is on the edge of the further part of the javelin units range sometimes they won't throw. There are alot of problems with javelin animation in every mod I've seen. Best seems to put them in a single or double long line and throw long before enemy engages your own men... of course since their range is so short and javelin animation is so long that can be difficult. When it works though its glorious.

    Guys,

See the anim files in this download http://www.gamefront.com/files/21365037/RC2.0.rar, they contain heavily modified foot and mounted javelin animation files in the animations_changed folder that significantly speed up the javelin load-wait-shoot cycle, please feel free to use them.

You are a gentleman and a scholar.

What I've found is that it's better to keep javelin troops on automatic fire rather than turning it off and telling them who to attack. I've been using javelin cavalry extensively in my Ghorid campaign in India. Javelins are proving very effective against those pesky elephants.

If we wanted to use those javelin animations in a mod that we already have installed, how would we go about it?

javelins in BC can be a pain in the ass... most work relatively well but some units like gakhari tribesmen stand around with their thumbs up their ass
