Kalmar union

Hi people :p

Just started a kingdoms teutonic campaign with Denmark and a message about the kalmar union pops up. My question is; what happens when you form the kalmar union? Thanks in advance.

You get a new flag and access to Gotland footsoldiers.

you get a new (ugly) flag and some special units. plus all the norwegian cities, characters, troops, etc.

Are the footsoldiers any good?

yes. besides the footmen you also get the svenner and sami axmen. you can try out all 3 of them in the britannia campaign.

And what if i just destroy Norway before the formation?

then you dont get the units or the flag (yellow with a red cross).

Also, if you want to form the union of kalmar you first have to capture some settlements. then you will get the mission to kill the norway king, either in battleor assassination. if you kill the entire faction, you wont get the union.

I would say go for the union. the flag is a bit ugly, but you get new units

Just remember not to wipe out Norway before you initiate the attacks, otherwise you cannot form the union.
