NTW Not starting

Hey people!

after playing NTW for a while i decided to take some days off.. then i wanted to start it again i got the usual Preparing to launch Napoleon total war and then it shutsdown, having the same thing with ETW. me and my mate have been trying to fix it but no luck in that.. and ive tried the Directx thing and that C++ thing

Delete the preference_script.txt in both folders, and verify the game cache.

If it's been a while, check your permissions through you antivirus, firewall, and/or router, even disabling them momentarily, to see if they are the proble.

I am trying to solve same problem as OP, with your solution.
But I can find only one preference_script.txt (at C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Napoleon\scripts). And deleting this file didn't fix.
Is there another preference_script.txt file?
in "both" folders, you said, I suppose there is 2 folders?

There is only one preference_script.txt. It shows I was getting tired. Sorry for the confusion.
