Godzilla (2014 reboot)

So Godzilla is confirmed to have another reboot in 2014, albeit an American one. It is confirmed it will have nothing to do with that travesty of a film released in 1998, so there's that. Godzilla is also confirmed to fight another monster.
I'm a little disappointed that Godzilla and the other monster will be in CG, but I suppose being the man in a rubber suit is a little too taxing on the body (hell, the actor in the suit passed out on occasion due to heat); but seeing as how this is not Toho producing the film, I sort of expected that.

Another plus; TriStar will not have anything at all to do with this film because their rights to Godzilla expired in 2003. So yay! No TriStar!

I liked the choppers fighting godzilla scene in the first movie. For a movie based on a lizard that grows after being exposed to radiation I dont think the 1998 version was that bad. I think it was an entertaining movie.

Well, it's not that it was a bad movie; it's just that TriStar slapped the name "Godzilla" on it for label value. Maybe if they hadn't had done that it would be a well liked film.

The dock scene with the old fisherman was funny, Jean Reno and Broderick plus Hank A. were also funny in a campy sort of way.

A silly monster movie that didn't take its self to seriously.

Are they gonna go Cloverfield serious style?

My favorite Godzilla movies were from the Heisei series I just loved that Godzilla suit even have the little toy of it

Agreed, it's a good choice for children, I also liked it when it came out.

I liked 'Monsters' the whole thing seemed... credible, which is the best complement I can bestow on a movie of it's genre. I loved staying up until 1 am watching the old godzilla movies on Channel 4. The reboots that tried to recapture the original destructive nature of Godzilla never really stuck as he became a tree-hugging, world-saving lizard at the end of the original Toho era. Could be good.

I liked more the American one, it kinda made more sense ...
