Icon5 Sub-mod suggestions? New TATW Player.

    Hey all.

So I was getting into a HE game with TATW and Baron Samedi's Compilation and what-not, but hearing all the crash reports and instability of Baron Samedi's stuff and all the scripts that butt-heads, I decided to reinstall TATW fresh as Vanilla 3.1.

That being said, what are some sub-mods that are suggested to improve the game that are stable?

Or, should I not get any sub-mods at all?

    Thanks in advance all.

The last 40 pages of the Baron's thread is all bug reports, and I literally just asked a few people in Baron's thread and they said around turn 100-200 it crashes. Besides, I'd rather just have a play-experience that won't be interrupted by impending CTD's.

Baron's, FROGS and PCP are the only ones updated for 3.1 I think so one of them.

    RR/RC.

Dark Lord Revan and Nemesis_GR both made versions, I think.

It might be worth pointing out that's included in MOS, but then again it's not out yet

Excuse my noobiness, but what exactly does RC do? I'm reading the thread (yours), but not entirely clear what it exactly does.

RC stands for 'Real Combat', it makes combat way mroe realistic and strategic. It improves the battles alot.

Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

I wish I could rep you for that (but I must spread it around some more first )

RC truly is a gem for M2TW though imo, in any (sub)mod compilation(s). Helps bring out the life in every unit better. Makes the battles more interesting and from my testing helps balance auto-resolve out so it doesn't seem to favor evil factions and numbers as much

Heavily armoured units are favoured by auto-resolve, and a lot of the orc units have 0 or 1 secondary HP.

To be more specific, it changes the unit stats/costs/recruitment to make it more balanced.

il duce's expanded map is pretty good. it's the same map just with more settlements and smaller territories. pretty balanced, very few bugs, and i have yet to have a ctd

    and it's updated to 3.1

TATW and submods is a pain in the ass right now!
As long as there is no SubModManager ( like in SS ) included you must check out the modding forums and do it by yourself!

The only other possibility is to take a massive Submod Collection that changes "thousends" of things and looks like it has been made in a big copy&paste orgy ( Barons one is a good example ) and therefor is "not perfect"!
Edit: This does not mean all compilations here are ... the ones I consider as "good" are beta versions and will need some months until normal players can play them ( PCP/MOS )!

Thats my dillema... every of these compilations changes something I dislike and my only possibility is to edit them and to "steal" parts and include them by myself...
thatīs my ( useless ) suggestion to you

Haha I understand what you're saying perfectly.

Essentially, for the time being Vanilla TATW 3.1 is the best stable experience.
