    Default does any body realise how old Cirdan actually is

    Cirdan is one of the original elves. he has been there since the beginning of the elves. he has to be at least 5000 yrs old

    LOL, he's way older than that. 5000 years only covers the Second and Third Ages. Add the First age (ca 1000 years) and the Ages of the Lamps (have no idea how long, but a very long time)

    That's why he stays at the Havens. He's too old and has seen too much. The Elves leave him to his rest and his shipbuilding(which is the equivalent of a hobby). He deserves it. Gandalf didn't press him when he arrived in Middle-Earth either. Nor did Saruman.
