This guy is EXTREMELY anti-gay, and by extremely if you dont know him here are examples. Hes to the point where you'd expect someone to be so upset with him that they murder the guy, especially the events that he demonstrates at. Like soldier's funerals.

They will pickett various places. These people with him will carry signs that says "god hates fags" for example. However one of the places he does this at is funerals for soldiers who die in iraq. They carry signs that say "thank god for dead soldiers" saying that god wills them to die for fighting for such a country that allows gays to... i guess exist. Grieving families have to see signs that tell them that their son is going to hell or thank god hes dead for fighting for his country simply because gay people exist here? This is plainly ridiculous and i will be happy when this guy, who looks to be 140, dies because this is the type of person that the world can do without. They supposidly did the same thing with Hurricane Katrina victims as well.

They have their own website, look it up on google i dont have the link myself. Its religious insanity at its worst.

As in, he is probably gay himself, but is violently rejecting it, so he hates what he is, and this hates everyone else who has accepted their homosexuality.

No doubt that if you were to actually psychologically examine Mr (I think that the word 'Reverend' is a bit strong really) Phelps, you'd probably find that he himself has urges in that direction. but this guy is over the top and using a divisive idea to gain power. He's a politician really. Granted he's not running for a particular office, but he is dividing people on the basis of gaining power. No different than al sharpton, pat roberts or osama. Politics pure and simple.

Coming from a small town in South Dakota that has seen three of our National Guardsmen in killed in Iraq (or from injuries suffered in Iraq) I have seen these monsters in action at the funerals. In fact, because of them, South Dakota has passed a law forbidding them from protesting for a certain period of time before and after military funerals. I think there are some other states that also are going to/have enacted these types of laws. Unfortunately you can't just outlaw them, but I think you can mitigate some of the ummm... damage they can cause to the suffering families/friends of the deceased.
