First French Napolieonic Troops attacked in COLUMN. Sometimes, but not always, they tried to deploy into line at effective musket range (about 150 yards). They did NOT advance in line.

British Infantry fought in a two deep line (a formation they had learnt in America). British infantry were aknowleged, even by French Generals who fought them, to be the best Infantry in the world.

Cavalry had to get very lucky to break an Infantry Square, or the Infantry had to run away, which good troops seldom did, since it just got them killed.

The AI in this game is pathetic, especially the way Allied troops will walk through friendly formations and guns will even open fire through friendly troops, this is just plain stupid!

Turning to the Naval actions. Only the tiny US Navy was as good as the British Royal Navy. The sailors were better trained and fired faster than either the French or the Spanish, simple historical fact.

Anyone doing Mods needs to address these issues.
