Default Domus dulcis domus - Home sweet home?

If you look on your rome total war map you will find a small village called domus dulcis domus, which in latin means home sweet home , but far from home, its a german rebel village in the middle of no where miles away from rome *lol*

Any theorys on how this came about?

A joke probably, just like the Yubtseb elephants, and the description of the Roman Aqeducts when you build them: "What did the Romans ever do for us? This, thats what" (if you don't get it watch Monty Pythons the Life of Brian)

Yeh, i suppose, but im not sure that they would have put a joke like that because rome total war is a game which is supposed to be historically accurate, thats not the kind of thing they'd do. ill check other names and se if they are funny or wierd.

The original RTW was never described as "historically" accurate. Elements of the map, factions, units, events, etc., were all created with some artistic license.

There are several mods which aim to make the game more istorically accurate, for example, Rome Total Realism RTR...check out this mod in the major mods section of this board.

Even the mods which claim to be historically accurate fall short of the mark...there is just to much detail to be dealt with and the game mechanics that are hardcoded cannot be adjusted.

If I found out CA actually meant to make RTW historically accurate, I would cover my walking boots in soy sauce, add a little chili and cook for 5 hours. Then I would eat them.

Normal RTw als has a province in the far north called Themiskyra, in the province Hyperboria, which is pouplated by Amazonians. Its a little easter egg CA left in to make it more fun, RTW is mostly accurate, but CA have used artistic license like Gaius Baltar said.

Hyperboria: In Greek mythology, according to tradition, the Hyperboreans were a mythical people who lived to the far north of Greece. Their land, called Hyperborea, or Hyperboria ("beyond the Boreas (north wind)"), was perfect, with the Sun shining twenty-four hours a day.
